#story of my life
What do you think about the way Cersei/Tyrion relationship was showed in session 3? I was personally pretty annoyed. Cersei who goes to Tyrion to told him all her plans or Cersei who shows Tyrion how bad she feels about for example her being married again? WTF? In book i had feeling that they were trying to hide their feeling and thoughts from each other, show how cool they are and playing games of guess how the other one react inside? Btw. Your are making awesome work here.
Hi!
I’m definitely not happy with the changes they made in their relationship. I think the tension between them in the books made a lot more sense, and it showed how smart they are on their own, and how they played their cards in the game. And it also would have explained and made a lot more sense in season 4, and with SPOILERS Tyrion’s trial, and to further Cersei’s story. The dynamics of how one gets ahead when the other one is down, is probably the best part of their relationship, and the show doesn’t convey that well. Basically it feels like the writers don’t know how to write the subtleties in their stories, their reactions and feelings towards the situations they are immersed in. But we already knew they are not into subtleties: either they exaggerate certain things, or they don’t show them at all. With this I’m trying to say that, you can show Cersei’s position as she’s forced to go through another forced marriage, without she interacting with the one person she doesn’t trust or doesn’t want to give the leverage to, since she considers him a rival or threat.
Will see how this turns out in season 4.
Thanks!
Hi there. Do you think Peter Dinklage is a bad actor or just over hyped or a combination of both? Thanks have a good day
Hi anon.
No, I don’t think he’s bad actor. In fact, around season 1 he was one of my favourites. I just think he stopped trying. It’s almost like he doesn’t care anymore, and I feel he’s putting no effort on it. The hype over his performance was deserved back in season 1, but it’s not now. Not only he’s overrated, but he doesn’t deserve any praise as it is. As Tyrion he can give a decent performance at times, and others is just sub-par, not credible, and forced. I think one part of Tyrion he can manage with ease, because it resembles his own personality, but the other part he has issues with, and given the progress of the story, it’s what is required at the moment. In general the magic his portrayal had is lost, and he can barely recapture those moments now.
Thanks!
sooo there's a new book coming out called the Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister and I mean, clearly this book must be for TV show fans not the book fans... becauuuuse wow he does some very unwise and morally quesitonable shit in the books (especially in the end half of ASoS and the way he ultimately treated woman who he first had sex with), I enjoy his character to an EXTENT but not exactly to be idolized in this way. What are your thoughts?
Hi anon.
Yep. It’s about selling and taking advantage of the popularity the character has because of the exposure the show gave to it, so I don’t think it’s idolization, as much as it is “let’s make money with the most popular character! who cares what he did?!”. It’s not a bad idea (from the cash standpoint), but surely is a lazy one. The book contains quotes from Tyrion chapters. So, umm I don’t know see much point to it. But hey, it’$$$$$$$ ok, right?
I don’t know, lol. I’m just not interested in it. Will not be buying it.
Thanks!
Holy Lord of Light, I just realized... In season 3, when Tyrion gave Shae a necklace of chain! He was... GIVING HER A NECKLACE OF CHAINS! Does it mean what I think it means? Because I'm praying as hard as I can over here.
I think it does… A minimal "change" there, but I guess it gives a different meaning to the moment.
There was a post about it some time ago, but it was so spoilery I couldn’t even acknowledge its existence.
Thanks!
Predictions and repecurcussions for the show (ASOS Spoilers).
lavender-and-creme said: What leaves me feeling bitter is knowing that next season is the last we’ll see of Jack and Charles and there is basically no point in expecting them to be rewarded next year. Its always going to be Peter even when he’s completely dull.
Agreed!
Mark my words and mark them well, this only means repetition year after year of endless noms for Dinklage, unless the show declines really badly and really rapidly in one season, in terms of bad press (you'd think the Mhysa scene would have done the trick), not so much in terms of quality. Cause the quality has decreased tremendously, and apparently only the people who really follow it can see it. Same goes for Clarke, this could be her first nom, and they will probably nominate her many times, just because. I mean, if it's undeserving this time, I'm guessing other times won't be a problem for them.
And also, this will only mean more Dany and more Tyrion as fan favourites. Prepare for more bore and more dwaguns. And that's what I'm fearing the most about all this.
have you noticed that dany and her dragons have kinda become the "face" of GOT? like in every single article online talking about anything related to the show or books, her picture's there. no wonder no one's talking to her about her acting, they're too busy promoting her for everything.
Yep, unfortunately. Though I ask myself if they would be featuring her as such if she didn’t have dragons. Look I’m all in for more females leading credits, tv shows, publicity, promotion, and such. It’s about time. But I’m not a fool. I know what’s the big attraction here, and Daenerys herself is just a minimum part of that. I’m pleased she’s featured as a female character lead, but at the same time, I just can’t fool myself.
And also, there certain instances when it’s not about dragons and her, but about other characters, including female ones. So, it would be great if D&D stop shoehorning her and Tyrion, when there’s chance to expand and tell the story of other characters. There’s plenty of interesting stories to tell.
Thanks!
What depresses and concerns me about Game of Thrones is that the writers are keenly aware that the audience love four characters: Arya, Tyrion, Jon, and, of course our favourite, Dany. Even though the last two are played by people with low acting talent. So it means that we're going to see much more of them over characters. Look at the scene in Mhysa where we only have two seconds of Sansa grieving and THAT'S IT!
Unfortunately, that’s what they are doing and will do.
Though I disagree on Jon and Arya. This season their storylines got shortened and in Arya’s case, most of it wasn’t even there. And Arya’s storyline had such interesting plot lines developing and advancing the story, that I don’t know why they did not include. And it wasn’t till the last episodes, in which she got some leadership in her own storyline. In some way it was the same with Jon, though the reduced screen time, I think it’s due to Harington not being able to carry his own scenes. But then again, other actors can’t carry their own, and still get the screen time. So, Idk. I’m particularly fond of Jon’s storyline in ASOS, and honestly, I can only it got reduced to a bare minimum. So far, neither of these two have been shoehorned like Tyrion and Dany. Yes, they are fan favourites too, but they are not pushed down our throats as much.
Thanks!
