What was your first kiss like??
I’m sure a lot of you know roughly what went down but I’ll recount it anyway cos it’ll never not be a fond memory: we were on the Manchester Eye of course (rest in peace, old friend) and the sun had already gone down but the sky was still a royal blue rather than outright darkness and considering all the light pollution in Manchester we were able to see quite a few stars (sorry I’ll stop rambling about the setting it was just very vivid) — anyway, I’d taken Dan to the Eye not just because it was a fun attraction but also as an inside reference to that one Final Fantasy scene which I knew he understood (and he knew I knew he understood), so we just sat on the bench and leaned into each other for warmth (and because, well, you can probably guess) and I remember wanting to look at him for his reaction (and maybe also because he looked downright gorgeous and I was just a complete goner) but I didn’t want to come off as a creep on our first day together, you know? Both of us were aware of the tension — not sexual or conflictual tension, it was gentle and romantic — and I was just begging that something would happen and that he liked me back cos god knew I was too damn fond of this boy, and… it did. As our carriage got to the top of its path in the sky he whispered my name, and as soon as I turned my head to look at him, there he was, kissing me softly. It wasn’t a first kiss for either of us as individuals, but it was OUR first kiss and that was all that mattered in that moment — us kissing in that carriage with the stars up above us and my heart flipping the hell out. Dan pulled away rather quicker than I would have liked, but the poor boy was looking at me with wide anxious eyes as if to say “Was that okay?” and I answered by cupping his face in my hands and kissing him again. :’)
And that’s the story of our first kiss!
(Dan’s going to murder me.)
