"I mean if you're so concerned someone will take you away from me because of that, there's an easy way to solve it." š
Sheās shocked, though she shouldnāt be. This is Eddie, after all. Still, thereās a playful smirk on her lips before she answers.Ā āThen I guess we better solve it.~ā

I just read through a lot of su critiques and I have so many things I need to say Like bruh 'critical thinking' doesn't mean 'take the opinion of the masses and flip it 180°' no. It means that you gotta evaluate the thing as it is and look at both the good AND the bad. and there's something called 'worldbuilding' which takes time!!! A lot of what we know about gems and Homeworld now is appealing BECAUSE we had to wait for that information. Keeping the audience guessing and in suspense adds to the mystique and other-worldliness of Homeworld. Shoving all that information to the audience in one go, on the other hand? That's boring. You know how you've been complaining that Ruby and Sapphire were suddenly forced on us and that we were just expected to like them off the bat? It's like that, except you'd be doing it with an entire WORLD, not just two characters. Which would be even more of a crime, wouldn't it? Yeah so maybe we could be learning about Homeworld a little faster and maybe it /would/ be nicer if characters who would be more able to tell us about Homeworld (ie. Jasper, Bismuth) didn't get put into the plot fridge so quickly but Homeworld isn't all that Steven Universe is about, you know? We need to spend time on earth, too. So that we can take a break from all the drama (this is still a kid's show, remember). So that we can learn more about the people living on it. So that we know what's at stake when the drama starts again.
PSA
You can have your own thoughts about characters. You can have your own ideas on ships. You don't have to like or dislike things. You don't have to share the same views as your friends or complete strangers. However, unless you made the character it isn't your character. You don't control what is canon. You may not like what ends up canon but that's just how it goes. Simply because you don't like something doesn't mean it isn't real. If that logic worked we'd have world peace and a bunch of other great things and a lot less bullshit. Like 2k16 for example. You have an rp blog that existed before a bit of canon suddenly showed up? That's fine. Do you have to go along with it? No. Does that still make you that character? Technically but you're CANON DIVERGENT. There's nothing wrong with that eother. It doesn't make you less of a blog or that character. In all technicality every RP blog is canon divergent if you go by the fact they're all different portrayals of a character. Not all relationships will be the same or as in canon. Does fanfiction have to follow canon? LOL Fuck no that's half the reason it's FAN FICTION. Fan made fiction. Now, here's my biggest issue. Just because a ship is straight or between different characters doesn't mean it's gross and horrible or that the company was 'baiting' especially if there was no definitive proof of anything besides a few lines of dialogue. Characters of the same gender can talk to each other without flirting or wanting to fuck each other. Characters of the same gender can work together without wanting anything more. Characters of the same gender can be platonically involved. Same with characters of a different gender. It isn't all about romance. Don't bash other things, especially if you don't like it. Dont spam the tags insulting characters or ships or the people that like them. Nothing is superior to another. You're not better because you have a differing opinion on something. I will personally not tolerate seeing any of the sort on my dash or in group chats I'm in and nobody else should either. This is my warning to all who see this. Don't agree? That's okay I really don't care. Agree? That's nice for you but I still don't really care. It's 2017, don't start the year off like this. Think of how you would feel if someone treated you or what you like as if it wasn't worth the dirt beneath their shoes. Don't like it? Don't treat someone else like that. Start being a little more open minded and thoughtful and a little less immature and arrogant.
What she says: Severus Snape went on to bully children whereas James got better
What she means: I'm electing to ignore the fact that Severus was someone who was never fully got over his abuse and was forced into an environment where he was relentlessly bullied for years and that James was a rich boy who bullied because it felt good, the fact that we only hear that James got "better" from his two best friends who underplayed the extent of his abuse and that Snape left Lily alone when she asked him to whilst James sexually assaulted her best friend - saying he wouldn't stop until she agreed to a date.
