A normal Wednesday, I guess. But we had Calculus today and it was hella stressful. We were combining numbers with letters and shapes already and my mind was not stable. Luckily, our subject teacher’s great at teaching shits like those. He was making sure we all get it and we are somehow enjoying. Which we were, really. It’s fun going through hardships with people who could relate to your pain. Hahaha. We also had TLE today which is Cooking, for me and my friends’ case. We met our 19373rd teacher, really. She’s no better than the preceding ones which was disappointing. Nonetheless, the class was fun because of her granddaughter that she brought with her. My mates were making fun of her and it was hella funny. I got some sleep, too. So yay. Anyway, I think I nailed my performance task in Computer, too. Hopefully, I’ve got my grades filled up before the card giving on Friday. I’m not hyped, not at all.

Building Trauma Informed Human Rights Movements
Unfortunately we are ALL affected by trauma in some way. Whether we have experienced trauma ourselves, or work with people that have experienced trauma. This workshop strives to remove the stigma and shame that keeps us from addressing and healing from abnormal situations that our bodies are reacting normally to.This skill-share will explore the concept of trauma and how it affects our mind and body and our social justice work. How do we stay present in our work without burning out or letting our our own trauma history affect who we are working with? We will cover: Different types of trauma How the body and brain react to trauma Practical ways to deal with trauma reactions and practice self-care and prevent compassion fatigue How trauma affects our social justice work and tools to promote trauma awareness and reslience in our communities The material for the workshop is based on the STAR program (Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience) More information about the workshops and the facilitator can be found at www.jenica-wright.com.
