The Hunter. Filmed in 1979, released in 1980 and based on the exploits of a real bounty hunter. It's episodic in nature and while I can't say it's a great movie (it seems more like a TV movie or a pilot for a series) it is still very enjoyable and quite amusing in places.
After Steve McQueen made The Towering Inferno in 1974 he only appeared in three more films. This was the last and he died on 7 November 1980.
The Hunter also helped lead to a revival for the MA-1 'bomber jacket' - the green ones with orange lining which, you will have to take on trust, he is wearing in the poster above. Very popular in the 1980's. I even had one although mine was blue on the outside with orange lining. The orange colour was apparently to increase the visibility of aircrew if they were shot down.
