The weapons company Villengard tried to use a time hotel and a star seed to create their own star for commercial and possibly military use. Villengard had planned to detonate the star in the hotel, even though that would consume the Earth. However, what the Villengard company hadn't counted on was the carriers of the Star seed, who it had consumed over time, gave the star seed sentience. The last carrier of the Star seed, named Joy, took the seed inside her and rose into space so the star could be born safely without the loss of life. The new star shown down on Bethlehem in 1 AD guiding the magi as told in the Gospel of Luke. ("Joy to the World" Doctor Who vlm 4, TV Event)
