A few from the 2022 Broad Street Run Philadephia _ 05.01.2022
10 Mile Lagoon, Esperance W.A.
Feeling so super good about my first race back since November 2016! Runners Knee definitely took me out for a while, but I’m back and haven’t missed a beat.
The Charlottesville 10-Miler was a dream. People cheering at every single point during the race, hills on hills on challenging hills (the last mile was basically an uphill battle), and so many smiles from all directions.
Chip Time: 1:19:13 (7:55 average pace)
Overall Rank: 372 out of 2023 (Top 18.3%)
We’re back in the game, y’all! What a great morning. Crisp Saturday mornings have got to be the reason that running exists.
QUICK HELP
Oiselle is having their first annual race in April!! I am making a hella rash decision to sign up because:
I love Oiselle!!
It would be SO COOL to be a part of their inaugural race!
I have never been to Seattle and I want to go!
It would check off another state from my list!
Here’s the thing--they’re offering a VIP package for not that much and they are almost at capacity so I have to sign up like RIGHT THIS SECOND but they’re doing a 10k (one of the distances I want to PR in) and a 10 miler (longer=more fun) and I can’t decide which one I want to do!!!!
My half is April 9 and Oiselle is April 22 so I will be sufficiently trained for either distance, I just don’t know if I want to do a distance I want an official PR for, or have more fun running through Seattle! Help please!!!

On Sunday, I completed by first 10-miler and it was even better than I thought!
The whole week before I stressed about it: Am I ready? How am I getting there? Should I stay in the city and take the crammed subways or get dropped off? What if I don’t finish?
That last worry, after all, was my main goal for the race- just to finish- and my nerves really got to me.
I started in a corral further back…

My First Official Distance Race
My First Official Distance Race
I’ve always held back from distance runs because I made excuses that I didn’t have time to train. I was so close to signing up for a half marathon and shied away when a friend backed out. The weather is never going to be perfect, my life is never going to be calm enough to focus solely on running and money for race entry is usually not an issue. My excuses were all because I was afraid. I was…
