Answers:

I've wrote fanfictions for around four years now. I started on Wattpad writing Kpop stuff. I got inspired when I read my first BTS fanfic on there. Advice for writing, I'd say just go for it. Make a draft and just write, write whatever you want and just try. That's all I did.

My favourite season is Autumn and I love Halloween and Christmas. I love pumpkins, the leaves falling off the trees and it's never too cold, but not too hot either.

Who do you want to play young Joyce and Hopper? And do you think that Hop in Vietnam flashbacks will be payed by David or by a younger actor?

Oh, anon, I’m so out of touch with the new up and coming actors, I don’t know if I can do this question justice!

This is my 1000 post on this blog, btw so thank you for sending in the ask ❤️

Answers (with some spoilers) below!

I guess it depends if they go with established actors in their 20s (or very early 30s) or if they go with unknown younger actors... I think there was a rumor that they were looking for ages 15 to 17 to cast a few months ago when they were just starting up filming. 

I’ll try to answer both questions together because, IMO, and that’s all it is, there’s three ways they can go about it:

1) Use CGI to de-age Winona and David. We all know that Winona and David look a lot younger than they are, especially when they’re all spruced up for awards (Have you seen that last photoshoot Winona did? She looks like she’s still 25!) Their characters are pretty rough around the edges as it is in the show, so with some CGI and makeup I’m sure they could pull it off. I feel like this might happen in the age of COVID anyway to cut back on bringing new people onto set and spreading the virus. 

I dunno... with the “new normal” and how they’re talking about filming stuff post COVID, the possibility is there and I guess I’m saying I wouldn’t be upset if it happened that way. Winona and David are strong actors, and I don’t think it’d be weird to have them play Joyce and Hopper in their early 20s. Especially since we all grew up with Winona and know what she looked like at that age. It would be hard for me as a lifelong fan to see anyone else play her character. 2) Use artistic license and just have David/Winona play their younger selves in their current ages. I guess this would be similar to what Spike Lee did with his characters in the Vietnam war movie Da 5 Bloods. The older actors also played their younger roles but looked the same in the flashbacks as they did in the present day timeline (60 year old men). This takes a HUGE amount of suspension of disbelief on the viewer’s part though so I don’t know if it would fly. It’s an interesting technique, and something I’d expect to see in a stage productions. I admired Spike Lee’s approach for this in his film but I don’t know if it would work for Stranger Things.

3) Cast younger actors to play Hop & Joyce. In that case, my short list of current (known) younger actors is --  For Hopper:

Lucas Hedges (age 23, height 5′11″) @starmaammke​ pointed out how much he looks like David when he was younger and I can’t unsee that now. He’s a wee bit on the shorter side for Hop’s 6′3″ but that’s nothing some shoe lifts won’t fix! It’s movie magic y’all!

Jeremy Irving (age 30, height 6′0″) Jeremy starred in the Vietnam war movie The Last Full Measure as an Air Force medic, and all I could see was baby Hopper! The productions stills don’t really do it justice, you need to see him in action. The way he talks is all David.

Luke Kleintank (age 30, height 6′0″) This one hits home for me since I’m used to seeing him in Man in the High Castle which also takes place in the 60s... he’d be a good fit, but he might be too man-pretty to play Hop.

For Joyce: 

Olivia Cooke (age 26, height 5′5″) I’ve seen her pop up on a lot of those “Looks like Famous Celeb” lists for Winona over the past few years and it tracks. Olivia honestly has the most distinctive Winona-like eyes and her mannerisms are perfectly Joyce Byers as far as I am concerned! Dead ringer!

Adelaide Kane (age 29, height 5′4″) I’ll admit I haven’t seen her in much of anything but I think that she could pull off Joyce too with the right hair/makeup and mannerisms

India Eisley (age 26, height 5′3″) India’s face shape is a bit more heart-shaped than Winona’s oval but again, some movie magic can step in to take care of that. India and Winona also share a birthday (Oct 29 -- and there’s your fun fact for the day!) Regardless of how they do this, I am beyond EXCITED to see young Joyce and Hop. I’ve been waiting for this since July 2016 (and I also wrongly predicted it for ST3 with something Carmen Cuba said about casting after ST2 came out -- teehee!) Hopper in Vietnam should also be pretty epic, since I have a particular fascination with that war and era. Honestly, I could just watch a whole TV series about young Joyce and Hop in the 60s and the lives they led before the kids came into the picture. (Are you listening Netflix? Hellloooo?)

Christmas Special - Idia Shroud/Al Noir

It's was a lonely day. Al stayed in the common area sitting near the fire as he watched the lights on their Christmas tree. The soft sound of Christmas music played in the background as the tree correspond to the music. A smile forms on Al's face as he leans his head back, getting comfier. The small amount of chatter echoed through the room as other students move around the corridor, either leaving or saying. There was only one thing missing to make this perfect, Idia.

When Al woke up, he went to Idia's office. He pushed open the door only to see Ortho in the room. Ortho told him Idia was called in for something my Crowley, now it's late, and Idia was still not here.

Al lets a sigh out as he turns his gaze towards the fire to the left of him. He holds his left mechanical hand out, seeing the glow right behind his hand and the shimmering from his hand from the lights. He turns his palm towards him and slowly closes his hand lightly.

He was surprised by the gift from Idia. Idia made improvements to the arm he made for Al. The metal was lighter than the previous arm Idia made for him plus a few new features. Al didn't know how different using this until he accidentally broke one of the doors.

"Al. Al, AL!" The shouting of his name made him sit up quickly, and turn towards the location of the voice, to see Ortho watching him.

"O-Ortho. What are you doing here?" Al scans the room, remembering where he was. "Right. We're in our dorm." Al relaxes his body back on the couch, watching Ortho.

"I was asking you a question five minutes ago, but you never said anything," Ortho furrowed his eyebrows before showing a hug in his hands towards Al. "I made hot chocolate for people who wanted it. You never said yes, so I made one for you."

Al goes to reach with his left arm but stops himself before moving his right to take the glass. Ortho examines Al's body language before speaking.

"You're still getting used to the arm?" Ortho tilts his head as Al blows on the hot liquid. Al hums in response.

Ortho was the only one he could talk to who would truly understand his predicament. Once a month, Idia makes modifications to Ortho, who has to relearn his body again.

Al recalls the time that Idia made a small adjustment to his lets that made him lighter on his feet, but Ortho ended up breaking a few items as he tried to walk again.

"It's okay. It'll take a few days to adjust." Ortho says and reaches for Al's hand. "Better improvements on the movement and a few new features for you. You'll get the hang of it." Ortho turns his hand.

"Wait, new features?" Al was confused. Idia never told him about new features. Al looks down at his arm as Ortho pushes his sleeve up.

"Yeah, you can check your vitals with this." Ortho slides his hand against the metal before lightly pressing a button that Al didn't notice.

A small blue screen pops up in front of him, and Al widens his eyes. It showed everything about his name, age, height, heart rate, everything about his body. Al was fascinated by all the new features as he scrolled through the small screen reading.

"You can also insert your music and calls,"  Ortho says, swiping the screen away. He takes a little knob turning it a little, and another screen pops up with two names.

"You and Idia." Ortho nods and lights up Idia's name before pushing the same knob before the screen changes to dialing.

Al hears the sudden tone through his ears before hearing it start to ring. Immediately, they hear the sound Idia's tone echo through the room. They both jump, and Al quickly turns around to see Idia, holding his device in his hand and looks towards them.

"You're calling me now?" Idia asks, confused.

"Idia!" Al quickly hands Ortho the cup and jumps over the couch, running over.

Idia was about to open his arm, but Al already jumped, wrapping his arms around him. Idia stumbles back slightly before enclosing Al with a hug.

"Someone missed me," Idia spoke, glancing down towards him.

"I was bored, Idia!" Al whines, looking up at him with a small pout. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, Al." Idia nods, holding Al close.

"It's so cold! I don't like it." Al mumbles and looks around the room.

Idia nods and looks down at his arm. "I see Ortho was showing you the new features."

Al nods, not caring what Idia was saying. All he wanted to want to hold him and cuddle to him. Idia looks down at him and towards Ortho, who started to giggle.

"Al isn't gonna let you go, brother." Ortho chuckles.

"I don't have anything else to do, Al. Why don't we sit by the fire? you are getting cold." Idia says.

"Oh, I finished what you wanted me to do, big brother. It's in your room." Ortho chimes.

"Ah, Thanks Ortho." Idia nods slowly, giving him a warm smile. Al looks between the two confused.

"What's in your room? Is it a present for me?" Al pulls away from Idia, still feeling his arm resting on his back. He glances between the two curious.

"It's something," Idia spoke, looking down at him as Al looks at him. They locked eyes for a few seconds before Al grins.

"I'm going to go see!" Al quickly takes off.  Idia watches him scurrying down the hall to Idia's room.

Al reaches Idia's door and grabs the handle with his mechanical arm and stops. He relaxes and takes a deep breath and slowly turns the knob and opens the door. His jaw dropped when he saw the room.

The soft glow of the moonlight shined through the room showing all sorts of pillows and blankets covering Idia's room. Al took a few steps, taking in the view before stepping on one of the many pillows on the floor.

Kneeling, he grabs the pillow he stepped on and brings it to his chest, feeling the cold soft pillow against his face. He didn't know what to think or say. He eyed every single detail throughout the room before hearing Idia walk in.

"Ortho, I said I wanted a small-"

"I wanted to make it a surprise for both of you! It looks comfortable and welcoming, don't you think." Ortho cheers. Idia was about to say something before Al speaks out.

"It's beautiful." Idia looks towards Al, who tightens his grip around the pillow and turns towards the two brothers. "Ortho is right! It's so comforting. A great place to cuddle." Al smiles softly before pulling the pillow to his face.

Idia watches his facial expression, and he couldn't help but smile back towards him. He didn't have to say anything and lightly nods towards him. He glances over to Ortho, who was already gone. He furrows his brows and looks around, seeing he wasn't in vision.

"Idia." Al's soft voice echoed through his ears, and he glances down.

He could tell that Al was tired, but he knew Al would never say he was tired. There were times where Idia was too busy working, and Al goes to help only to fall asleep a while later. Idia nods and turns him around towards the massive amount of pillow around his room.

"Let's cuddle. You look tired." Idia spoke.

"No, I'm not. Let's sit by the fire. Or let's go drink some hot, wait. I forgot that Ortho made me hot chocolate." Al goes to turn around, but Idia places his hands onto his shoulders, showing him to his bed.

"Come on, Al," Idia spoke, chuckling slightly.

Al instantly crawls and lays face down on the bed. A sigh leaves his lips before turning his head towards Idia. Idia watches him and raises his eyebrow.

"Hm?" Al watches him as Idia shakes his head and sits down on the bed.

"Scoot over, for I can lay next to you." Idia grabs Al's hand and lightly pulls him up into a sitting position.

Al leans against Idia's shoulder and closes his eyes. "You're comfy Idia." He mumbles.

Idia hums and shifts around, holding Al until he was able to lay down on his bed. Al shifts a little, resting his head on his chest. "I missed you." He softly spoke.

"I know, Al. I know." Idia nods. "Now, it's time for bed." Idia runs his hand through his hair as he hears Al, trying to complain that he wasn't tired.

It was all coming out softly where Idia couldn't understand, but he hums to everything Al was trying to say. Al's voice soon stops, and silence filled the air. Idia watched Al for a few more seconds before feeling his body relax, and his breathing slowing down.

Idia eyes his room one last time at the massive amount of pillows and blankets around his room. He enjoys his room to be clean, with nothing on the floor, but the way Ortho made the room look made Idia not wanting to clean this up.

He looks at the clock across the room to see it past midnight. Idia nods slightly and relaxes into his bed watching Al once more. Seeing Al sleeping peacefully, he smiles and speaks one last thing before falling asleep.

"I love you, Al Noir."
