Another street that we encountered on our way to Dotonburi.
In getting to Dotomburi from Osaka station, there are a ton of side streets to explore. One such side street took us to an interesting little area that looked as if it was permanently frozen in the early 1900's. One part of this area had a very traditional and discrete looking shrine.

So here we are, off on the road again to get to Kyoto! First and foremost, we had to check out of our AirBNB place. Although going this route saved us a TON of moolah, the drawback is doing a couple of things that kind of going against the norm...in this case, instead of checking out, we literally just put our key back in a lock box tucked away nearby our apartment. On the way out, we took a quick photo...moments after this, the nice old man that's creepin' on Anis offered to take our photo for us! There was a bit of weird communication...but in the end he took the lovely photo you see below.
Off to the station we went...and next thing you know, we were on our first major bullet train of the trip! To Kyoto we go!
We were armed up to the brim with delicious Japanese snacks as we endured the nearly 4 hour bullet train ride down to Kyoto.
Literally us moments after we got off the train.
Adjacent from Osaka station is the entrance into Namba walk. As we slowly made our way into that area, there were some hip hop dancers doing their thang around the corner. With such an urban setting, you could almost imagine yourself being an extra in a Japanese version of Step Up as you walk by here, hehe.
The girls were obviously very excited to be in the pink lighting. They're like cats.
Along Dotonburi, the street lined with food places up the wazoo, you see a ton of places that try to grab your attention with giant displays. This particular one was selling takoyaki...so, as such, there was a ginormous octopus up above!
Our first night in Osaka was essentially just prowling around the streets of Dotonburi, eating to our hearts' content. At the end of the night we made our way to the okonomiyaki place that had been on our list of places to try. This is how we passed the time as we eagerly awaited our food.

...yeah, as you can imagine, the food definitely did not last long, hehe.
What better way to celebrate the end of our travel day into Kyoto and Osaka than with some ice cream? Anis is obviously channeling his inner dare devil here...easy there buddy...don't risk the ice cream!!
As he made a sudden pass at me, I felt like a dirty ball of crumpled paper on the floor. I barely existed in his presence, and the way I did existed was as something far less whole and valid than human. The surprising part was in realizing that I had been feeling that way for a very long time. The surprising thing about that moment was rapidly understanding that not only did he see me as a dirty ball of crumpled paper, but that I had started to see myself the same way. It felt okay that he wanted me to have sex with him without actually wanting me at all. And that’s when things get really bad – when you have someone in your life for enough time who treats you like you aren’t worth respecting and loving and taking care of, it starts to feel normal. It starts to feel like what you deserve. You stop remembering what it means to be regarded as the brilliant, tender, lovely being you are.

Woke up and ate, got ready for class and then headed out for class. After class, I had some preworkout and headed straight to the gym to lift. I worked out chest so hard today, it felt great. I took my time and got nice reps in. After lifting, i chilled at commons for a bit and then headed to class. I felt so awake today in class, i like it. I'm not sure if the gym helped or if it was pre workout. Idk. After that, went home with jenna, went back to campus, fact meeting and then library. MY LITTLE CAME AND WE SAT TOGETHER. <3333 OMGGGJKLFDSAFSJLSK. LOL. AND SHE SWIPED ME. FDJSKLFDSA I WISH I COULD USE EMOJIS ON TUMBLR. FJFKLASFJSAKLFSa. LOL. Finished most of my chem hw and then andy and I biked home. LOL she really thought i was actually mean to her.
