Hey, jo! Long time no talk! How have you been? I just dropped by to ask if any of your followers would happen to have questions on the DMV road test? Recently, I offered to make one and got a lot of positive responses... but I'm just stumped as to what I could include?!

Ary, I miss you! It's pei (sundaestudies). How have you been? I come to you w/ a heavy heart )-: I can't seem to accept B's in my life... Like, my transcript is filled with A's and B's, yet the latter rules my life more than the former. Plus, I (kind of) want to attend community college for 2 years, but there's this pressure that my peers and former classmates (b4 online school) are better than me and are just going to surpass me. This feeling is hard to shake.

I was just about to go to sleep when I got this notification and opened my laptop reAAAAL QUICK. 

This feeling is all too real for me as well, Pei. I’d bring home good qualifications as a kid and my dad would ask, “But why didn’t you do better?” So B’s have always been a source of stress for me in this sense. 

I won’t lie, I do still get sad when I don’t earn an A, but instead of B’s (or C’s or D’s) crushing my confidence and igniting a feeling of inadequacy and failure, I use it to my advantage. I still ask myself “why didn’t I do better?” but as a way to analyze what I’ve been doing and find ways to change up my study methods. 

I’ve actually scored a few Ds and Cs this semester already (and I’ve been freaking out about my GPA), but it’s really about taking the baby steps towards accepting you’re only human and bound to mess up. As long as you’re improving instead of scoring worse, you’re doing a-okay, friend. 

I attended community college after graduating high school, and have 2 associates. Since I’ve changed majors I’m starting from scratch and (possibly) attending another CC before transferring to university. I used to think I was being judged or whatever for not going straight to uni, but fuck what other people have to think. You’re going to transfer to and graduate from a university afterward, anyway. You’re going to earn your Bachelors and perhaps even Masters or PhD. Having started at a community college does in no way suggest your peers are better than you. I’ve a friend who went to uni and admitted he regretted not going to CC first because of just how expensive it was for him (you’re going to save soooo much $$$$$ if you do go). 

Whatever you decide to do, Pei, do it with all your heart. Give it your 100, move forward, and do strive for the best, but forgive yourself if you fall a bit short. I’m 10000% rooting for you. Hmu whenever, boo! I miss you. :(
