It's Complicated
Steve's parents come home after the party is declared town heroes. Steve believes they are home for him, but its really to get secondhand attention for his fathers business. He's trying to heal from injuries and his mom was more focused on the possibility of scars vs how he actually was feeling. When they got what they came for they leave Steve in the dust, and Steve has a conversation with Eddie, and possibly Robin(?maybe a separate one with her) about how he sort of knew they were just using him, but it "felt good for a while" so he just let it happen.
There was more to this story outside of his parents it's definitely a steddie fic but I just remember reading the parent parts and feeling so disgusted on his behalf. It was on ao3 and was either posted in later 2022 or early 2023
