Day 9: Gender bend of one of the characters
what if he experimented a little on their 2 years break?
Day 8: College AU or Medieval AU single character design I give you Sir Law xD Man, do I like to complicate my life... I an out of time, so it’s not really finished.
In case you couldn’t tell, I re-read Dressrossa arc. Well, more like... skipped through all of it very quickly.
Day 6: Favorite location
For me always Skypea. I know, I suck at drawing stuff like this, especially with limited time - but I didn’t want to skip a day in the challenge TT_TT
Day 4: Protagonist redesign The weather was so gloomy today, I wanted to do something bright and silly. For some reason Luffy with ponytail makes my heart 10 degrees warmer.
Day 3: Underrated villain
I choose Monet for a number of reasons: 1. she’s been introduced in Punk Hazard arc, which is easily one of my favorite arcs. 2. She’s a loggia type, man! I was always under the impression that she got defeated a little too easily. 3. No backstory is given, but I always felt that there’s more to her than meets the eye. 4. She’s among the very few OP characters that have actually died - or at least there doesn’t seem to be a way for her to still be alive. I mean, her heart got stabbed. And the way she died was so ironic and well thought out by Oda, I mean... It was a great moment of drama.
I still wish we’d seen more of her though. She was no less a villain than Caesar.
Thoughts?
Day 2: Least favorite character Well, it was a toss up between him and Blackbeard. I absolutely loathe Blackbeard, but I came to a realization that, at the very least, it makes him a very well written and designed antagonist. And, ironically, the closest thing to a real-life pirate in all of One Piece. On the other hand, Sabo's very existance in the story is the narrative equivalent of a splinter lodged right under your fingernail. He belongs to the category of characters I hate the most: the characters created in an attempt by the author to re-write an already established backstory, after they realized that the story has expanded and said backstory is no longer "cool" enough. UGH, no. Not even Oda is innocent of this cheap trick and I don't feel inclined to forgive him. Ehem. In other words, Sabo's a dollarstore Ace, change my mind. Since he had it in him to kill Ace, Oda should have just kept it that way, and not add a hyper-contrived story to shove in a replacement. Ehem, yes. as I see, it's been many years and I'm still seething. The challenge continues.
