Liam Payne is the new face of the "HUGO NOW" fragrance. In the interview, the singer reveals what his childhood smells like and who his style crush is.
Smart, talented and the absolute girl crush. British singer Liam Payne became a teen idol overnight as a member of the boy band "One Direction". The 26-year-old has been traveling as a solo artist since the band ended in 2016. Meanwhile, (Liam) is not only a styling role model, but a real beauty professional.
No wonder that the beauty and fashion brand Hugo Boss has named the handsome singer the new face of the limited edition HUGO NOW. The perfume has been available in stores since the end of January. We spoke to Liam about his beauty routine, the scent of his childhood and his male style role model.
InStyle: Is there a beauty product you can't live without? Liam Payne: "A facial cleansing! I think it is really important to clean your face from the traces of the every day evening."
What is your daily beauty routine like? "I recently discovered a collagen gel for morning and evening. I use it every day. In the evening, I also use the Dermalogica face treatment."
A fragrance is also part of your routine, right? Our brains combine scents with memories. Is there a fragrance that reminds you of your childhood? "I don't know if you understand what I mean, but there is that very special smell at Disneyland. I've never smelled it anywhere else. I can't say exactly what it smells like - but every year when we have Christmas was at Disneyland, this special aroma came up. This fragrance always reminds me of my childhood and Christmas time. "
You are the new face of the limited fragrance "HUGO NOW". In the official statement, you say that the "My Time is Now" campaign symbolizes a moment of pure happiness for you. How does "happiness" smell for you? "I probably think of the smell that reminds me of my childhood: who doesn't love Christmas? - and Disney!"
Do you have a styling role model when it comes to style? "My styling crush? I think Tom Hardy is a particularly well-dressed man! And I also like Brad Pitt in Fight Club. He has a pretty distinctive style."
You have been traveling as a solo artist since 2016. Has your personal style changed since then? "Yes! I've experimented a little with different genres and different fashion styles over the years. But I feel like I've arrived. Now my style represents who I really am."
Do you currently have a fashion piece on your wish list? "I really want a good 50s suede jacket."
