Ive got a few questions about the comics. I’ve heard people say that hazel and cha cha are nazis like is that true? And I’ve heard people say that Diego and Vanya has a thing like did that actually happen?
In the comics, Hazel and Cha Cha are very, extremely different versions of what appears on screen, just first and foremost. They happily kill, maim, and torture. There are no moral conundrums or hopes for a calm, peaceful life. They’re obsessed with murder and they love sugar (and each other) and that’s about it. There’s one panel in which we see them wearing a nazi uniform so you’re free to draw your own conclusions:
Besides this one panel, there is no mention or inclusion of anything else related to nazis, or the two of them being nazis. (Personally, I think it was ultimately an unnecessary and short-sighted decision and was probably added in to remind us that they’re the literal worst of the worst, which has already been made pretty clear before this point. But I’ve also seen this spread as some kind of proof about how this series shouldn’t be supported at all, which just feels a bit extreme).
As for Diego and Vanya, it depends on what you mean by “A Thing.” They were close as kids/teens and had planned to leave the Academy together to play in their punk band but it didn’t work out that way. Vanya leaves on her own and Diego (angrily) continues as a vigilante. They’ve never been linked romantically, and though it’s clear Diego still cares about her there’s nothing about it that is explicitly romantic or sexual. And in Vanya’s own words:
