It's like there's this storm, not even necesserily a storm, but heavy clouds following me, just around the corner of my peripheral vision. I can feel it in the air, everything just slithly heavier, just dark enough to not be bright. It's like I want to scream, but I can't, and at the same time I also don't want to scream, as if I'm sadeted and can't feel the despair... or the joy. It feels like I'm on my way to something, nothing important, or something I'm looking forward to, just something, and it never comes. I'm running away and to somewhere and at the same time being still.
Unconventional love stories from animator Sawako Kabuki
"Love is a wonderful thing that colours our life, but love is not always visible and sometimes is vague and ephemeral," Tokyo-based Sawako Kabuki notes sagely. Her latest animation, _Ici, là et partout_, "is filled with love and shows the state of being carried away by love," although not using the visual tropes you'd usually expect to accompany a tale of blossoming romance.
Mitski's latest video is a cascading animated journey through relationships
“The concept for the video began with the idea of a character who falls off the edge of the world,” says creative studio Art Camp, Saad Moosajee and Danaé Gosset, the creators of the Mitski’s (who released _Pitchfork’s_ top album of 2018) latest video _A Pearl_. The video, a cascading animation of intricately illustrated moments, does exactly that.

Biraz yorgunum, kavgaları birikiyor insanın! Her uzvundan ayrı ayrı taşıyor acısı zamanla!
:-) #dobrezpravy #goodnews #afroaxel #20022019 #100Days https://www.instagram.com/p/BuHVk7whuzb/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17ju3os3mf2ev
If I had to condense what being an adult is down to it’s essence, I’d say that it is about getting shit done even when things aren’t aligned to your liking. Especially when things aren’t aligned to your liking. Actually, to put it in even simpler terms, being an adult is about finding a way.
“How’s your training coming along?”, R asked me at lunch.
The marathon is six months away. My goal is to finish in less than 4 hours 30 minutes. My previous time was 5 hours 20. Shaving an entire hour? Big fucking deal! So how’s the training coming along?
It’s not.
I’ve got all these excuses. Work. Sickness. More work. Side projects. Social engagements. Each one with supporting arguments as to why it needs to exist. Each with documents proclaiming its urgency.
I only have 24 hours in my day and 7 days in my week and there are only so many things I can fit in the week before all the hours are gone. I mean, my meal prep alone takes about 3 hours.
You see, I know that I’ll never run if I wait until the day I’m well rested; until the day I have manageable workload that I can complete in a reasonable time; until the day I have no social engagements at night. Of course that day might. In fact, it almost certain will. But there wont be enough of those days, if I wait for them, to get me to 4 hours 30 minutes.
Cory Doctorow once said,
A lot of the secret to productivity is just saying ‘no’ a lot, which is to say deciding what you want to do and refusing to do other things.
Replace “productivity” with “adulthood” and the secret pretty much still holds. Right now, I’m not very good at being an adult, but I’m learning -- step by baby step --and I’m constantly reminding myself.
