2015 Cosplay Recap - Sydney

Hi People!  Last year was a good one, but I think I can do so much beter ! And this is what I’ll do this year (better) ! 2016 ... Cosplay in 2015 overview :)

I had a lot of fun cosplaying this past year! I made and customized my first props (River’s belt and blaster and Elsa’s shoes), wore a wig for the first time (River), attended my first Sherlock convention, experienced a professional shoot and found time to do fun shoots and go to a couple of local conventions.

-New cosplays: River Song (Day of the Moon), Noldorin Rivendell Elf OC (purple dress)

-In progress: Elsa (everything finished but no final shots yet), Merida (stalled for 2016)

-Conventions and events:  Fem!Tenth Doctor for our Irish group’s Saint Patrick show (March), Sherlocked convention (London, April - Fem!Sherlock), Expomanga convention (Madrid, May - River Song), EstelCon convention (Madrid, October- Elven ranger and Noldorin Elf) and Expocómic convention (Madrid, December - Fem!Ten).

-Shoots: Professional Tolkien shoot (February - Elven ranger and Noldorin Elf), Earl’s Court TARDIS shoot (April - Fem!Ten), Lúthien shoot (September).

-Projects for 2016: Elsa shots, Missy (Doctor Who), Merida.

2015 yeas a good year. I wore a lot more cosplays that exposed parts of me that I never knew I was comfortable showing off. I am proud to say I feel I successfully pulled off most of my characters. I focused a lot more on hanging out with friends this year than getting good shots of my cosplays. Hopefully next year I’ll strike a good balance of both. Anyways heres to 2016! Hurrah!

This year I somehow managed to make 31 new costumes you guys. I am not sure how I managed to do this, but I did!  I also costumed 2 plays, did 2 consecutive musicals, went to a ton of birthday parties, and went to 7-8 conventions!  My 2015 was kind of crazy!

2015 in Cosplay

Jumping on the bandwagon, here! These are my cosplays of 2015, and I couldn't be more proud. This has definitely been the year where I leveled up my cosplay skills. From wig styling for Viletta to designing Erza from scratch, I really feel like I learned a lot about cosplaying. Overall, I'd have to say Nozomi is my favorite. I spent a lot of time finding the perfect materials and she's the first cosplay where I successfully dyed the fabric! Let's not talk about my unsuccessful dying adventures... Also, I love wearing her because kimonos are awesome 😄 Without further ado, here they are!
