i am open and honest. i easily express myself, my needs, my true desires, and my boundaries. i overcome the obstacles in my life, learning their lessons and moving forward with the knowledge they give me. i find success and fulfillment in all my endeavors. my needs are met and i am at ease. everything flows easily for me when i put in the effort needed. i expand my comfort zone in order to be fulfilled and excited. i am passionate and excited about everything happening.

January 11, 2019 | Wrapping up my first week at my new gig! I’m working remotely today and decided to come visit an old favorite coffee shop before I head to an afternoon meeting nearby. My head is still spinning from all the information I need to process, but I’m being kind to myself and reminding myself that I’m still onboarding and can ask as many questions as i’d like. Regardless, i’m ready for a restful weekend!

Intentions for 2019

Spend more time outside. Bake more. Support small business, handmade and preloved over chain stores. Plan days with more intent. Start a small herb or vegetable garden. Weekend family outings exploring beautiful places. Live somewhere beautiful while saving. More road trips. Keep a journal or blog more often. Rise earlier. Eat more foods that nourish my body. Take time for me. Read. Simple, slow living. Make new likeminded friends. Yoga. Minimize clutter. Say yes to new opportunities. Release past resentment and negativity. Embrace life. Love.

2019 Intentions update: Strong start (I would hope so only 5 days in lol)

Eating my fruits and veggies everyday and enjoying them!! I’ve been trying to hit all my little fitbit step goals, as I can. My mom is totally in this with me, so we have been pushing each other to hit our daily workout/step goals. I’ve been limiting the amount of sugar in my coffee, by switching over to black coffee after my first cup. 

I’ve started prepping for biochem, with Biochemistry for Dummies and Khan Academy to brush up on my general/organic chemistry knowledge. I’ve started looking over my syllabi and getting prepared for my upcoming courses and the work required for each of them. I just got off the wait list for one of the gen eds I need to take. Its “Black Culture and Experience”, and I’m super excited to take it. I’ll be at 18 credit hours overall, and this will be first semester with so many credits!

I’ve been intentionally keeping in touch with friends over the break, and I’ve been making sure to read at least one chapter in my book before bed. I’m reading the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and it is SO good. Strongly recommend!

I’m planning on continuing to prep for biochem, and to start researching D.O.s to shadow in my area. Not a lot of choice, as we don’t have a lot of options for healthcare around here and the university hospital does not have a lot of D.O.s as providers. My best friend is hopefully coming into town tomorrow, but her car is still in the shop, so we will so! Here’s hoping.
