Someone shows your character a photograph of themselves when they were five. How do they react? What is the picture like?
She would likely most determinedly tell herself that it’s inconsequential; that that girl does not exist anymore and she has no desire to know anything about her. And it would be mostly true, but largely out of self-preservation. The picture would be of a girl with dark, cropped hair, smiling a smile that screams a little too loudly that she’s trying to please.
When your character has nightmares, which emotion is the most present?
The feeling of being trapped. It isn’t fear, exactly, but a deep sense of dread and surrender to the inevitable. A burning and suffocating. Her nightmares tend to focus on rememberings of what she cannot change or what she could not prevent, often in loops, and while she’s never quite aware enough to know this, her sleeping mind seems to understand very well that there’s no imagining kinder endings. She dreams a lot about the Light and nearly turning, and really does fight to keep those happenings to herself because it sends both her and Hades into dark spirals of more than one sort.
If your character had to get a (new) tattoo right now, what would it be?
She has an aetheric tattoo of Azem’s summoning spell hidden beneath her wedding ring, and I think she’d probably try to get some of the scarring that runs from the back of her neck and down her back tangled up with a chain of stars in the same champagne-gold colour. It’s something either of her husbands could probably do if she asked them, but it also falls under the ‘this is vanity and therefore frivolous’ mindset that she tends to have about her body. I think Hythlodaeus would likely be very glad to do it for her, if she ever manages to ask.

All are friends - some are just closer than others. Some hold more secrets than others. And some can hold their heart while others hold their drinks. But all are friends.
3. How often do they show their genuine emotions to others versus just the audience knowing?
Honestly, sometimes even I as their writer don't have any idea. I was misled for 6 months once, more fool me. So... not often, to anyone at all.
8. How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’?
Tightly kept, tucked away behind the ribcage. They are dangerous words, and must be saved for occasions where it counts. Those who have the ears for it though can hear them in the heartbeats, both the regular and the skipped.
9. Do they give tough love or gentle love most often? Which do they prefer to receive?
Gentle, but it may not be warm. An ice cube is delicate, and cannot pierce skin, but you jump when it makes contact. They prefer true love - truth in the telling, tact in the form if it can be managed.
28. What do they tell people they want? What do they actually want?
Nothing; the future. Nothing; the past. Nothing; the present.
33. How do they greet someone they dislike / hate?

Each other. Even if they told lies, they are sure there is good reason. And if there are no good reasons, the other will come up with reasons good enough for them.

june 15th: Uncommon Questions for OCs and their creators
for aestus (xv oc): 21. Why do they get up in the morning?
because he has to. because he was trained and conditioned into his role, and he upholds it well, even when there are times where he really doesn't want to. because if he doesn't, then anything could happen between the time he doesn't til astrals know when. he has his sisters to aid and train for their own roles, but he also has his family to look after and provide for.

about aestus? i mean, that he's driven. i admire the fact that, even as much as he might hate something, he gets up to do it anyway. he hates the idea that he's the villain in his allies' stories or moments in their past sometimes, but that's the role he has to play sometimes. much love is at the core of his person, he doesn't let that get too in the way of what he has to do in order to get something achieved. at least to a point. :^)
(everything else under a cut, because, uh...i have a lot of days to catch up on, and i love to yap when given the opportunity. especially about my ocs when given the invitation to do so.)
june 16th: WoL/OC Questions
Do you have a lot of OC/WoLs? If so, how many? Do they co-exist? Do they have their own timeline/AU?
yes, i do. there are some of them that co-exist, but largely, i have characters who all have their own stories, and may not even know one another and will never know one another. as far as own timeline, absolutely. i consider everything that is written based off of the canon story as being a timeline of its own. everyone's wol story, to me, is a different timeline -- this does not change because it's my own oc/wol. my warrior of light, nomin, has her own timeline, and it's the one where she's hydaelyn's chosen champion. this is in recognition that everyone's warrior of light is their own main character, and so of course, to me, it stands to reason that every warrior of light is of their own timeline if Things Were Different™.

for lyra (xv oc): how many scars does your muse have?
i never actually thought of lyra having scars, if i'm being honest. like, i don't doubt she has them. she has a kind of devil-may-care, depressive personality, and despite that, i've never really imagined her self-harming and causing scars that way. there's never been a thought that's struck me that she gets some kind of release by causing herself scars. however...she's also someone who trains for being at the prince's side for him one day being king. i'm sure she has training scars from when they go from training weapons to real weapons, i just couldn't tell you where right now.
june 18th: Ship and OC Relationship Creative Process Ask List
for jaydin (muti-fandom oc), and by extension, her ship, Haunted Memories, with @elikaxiv's myrddin: Is there a way in which your portrayal of your character’s relationship subverts the reader or viewer’s expectations? Was this deliberate?
i dunno, if i'm being honest. when my partner and i first met each other, the meet cute scenario was literally myrddin was injured, and jaydin refused to let him suffer in silence, instead taking the time to tend to his wounds. so, i mean, there's a trope.
in our original works, they're childhood friends to lovers with jaydin being the rough and tumble type who advocates rights and justice for the poorer people (a very robin hood type), whereas myrddin is raised with privilege and kind of has that shape who he becomes when he's older. there's another set of tropes. this one follows them a bit into our portrayals of them in ffxiv.
ultimately, it's whatever makes us happy with them and with each other when it comes to doing stuff creatively with one another. i'm not terribly concerned with 'viewer expectations' when it comes to the oc ship between us that really kick started our relationship with one another and has persisted for the last almost sixteen years.

june 18th: Headcanon/Development Questions
for ros (xv oc): What’s something about the way your muse ‘helps’ that might be different from how someone else would help? What in particular about their style of ‘help’ is different/unusual?
ros helps indirectly, and he knows it. essentially, he wants to give people the idea that they thought of something for themselves, even though he's initially the first person to really make the suggestion -- or at least say something that coaxes out the rest of the thought process in the other individual. he's gotten really good at doing this for a handful of the 114th. this is because he actually hates dealing with heavy discussions, and doesn't want to be the person that everyone relies on for talking things out. he already has to deal with lyra and her talks surrounding depression as both she and him are depressed people who find weird solace that borders on co-dependence on one another.
june 19th: Winter Greenery OC Questions
for nomin (warrior of light; xiv oc): Has your OC ever been part of a wider cultural or spiritual renaissance? Perhaps following the defeat of an occupying force? Or the rediscovery of long-lost wisdom? Or even a reinterpretation of existing traditions?
oh man, several. i mean, she staged a coup against the jhungid to help free her people of their subjugation. then, of course, being the warrior of light, she's participating in many such instances of getting the garlean forces out of territories they had no business trying to conquer. in this, she also tells hien to back off when speaking to the people of the steppe, because whether they like it or not, and whether she likes it or not with the religious and spiritual trauma nomin's endured, she knows the xaela way better than some doman prince.
but i mean...the warrior of light has definitely stuck their fingers in many pies that surround these general topics and ideas.

june 21st: OC Language and Vernacular Questions
for vera (xv oc): Does your OC find it easy to talk about sexual activities or bodily parts? Or can they only speak about them using twee euphemisms or obscure slang terms? Or can they not speak about them at all?
oh, yeah... vera finds it really easy to slip into a character in order to fit a certain...mask. she can speak about practically anything if it means being able to fulfill a role. this does, however, mean that what she's saying may not always be particularly true. unless the discussion is dire and needs a more serious, locked-in version of herself, vera is quick to don a necessary facade and say what she feels fits the mood / scenario in order to learn more about the people she's talking with, and other details that may be important later.

lyra is not interested. that's it. she's not interested.
june 23rd: Annual Amorous Asks
for mollis (xv oc): Would your OC ever be confident in making the first move? Or do they prefer to wait for the other person to do so? If they are in a relationship then who made the first move in that instance?
mollie is definitely pretty comfortable making the first move, but she's very open to people making the first move on her, too. when she and tandem got together, she proposed it first since it seemed like they had...something. what that something was, neither of them really know entirely at this point. but...mollis has a girlfriend, and she made the first movie because her girlfriend was too shy to do so. she also has a boyfriend! and he's the one who made the first move that made mollis have to discuss with her girlfriend that, yes, mollis is open to polyamory, and she's interested, but she wanted to have that discussion to see what the feeling was on that. mollis loves to love and be loved, and there's room in her heart for more than just spe and angelus being her current relationships since they're all on the same page, and appreciate that mollis is open with them, trusting them with her feelings and emotions.

Does it matter to you how many other people also ship their OC with a particular character? Would this make it more likely that you will compare your material to theirs? Or does this not enter into your thinking?
no, i don't care at this point. if this question were presented to me when i was younger, or even in my early twenties, i would have bristled at the thought, because i was, at the time, very non-sharing. now that i've grown up out of it, and i've had the wonderful privilege of being in the ffxiv fandom where a lot of people are so happy to share and exchange, that much has melted away pretty much completely.
to be honest, we're all in this together. oc ships are usually ignored, looked down on, and made fun of and called cringe by canon purists a lot of the time, and it's so fucking important for us to be able to feel like we can still have fun with our touys.

natto. manaka's just not a fan of it. it looks really gross, and it also smells bad. she can't get over either of those aspects to want to put it in her mouth.

i'm not doing this for each muse. i also...had to pause and try to interpret what this question meant. so i'm going with my initial interpretation.
so, for lorha, since i rolled her, she would want a g'raha that she could interact with and trade academic back and forth with. she would be all about learning about what he's found and researched on allagans, as well as all of his time within the tower, his decision to go to the first, and what the century of founding the crystarium showed him as the city crew and evolved.
june 27th (today!!!): OC Asks in the Library
for mollis (xv oc): How dynamic is your OC? Are they quick to leap into action? Or are they more sluggish or sedate?
mollis is...quick. but she's also trained herself to be. she's eyes of the king, she's meant to put stuff together in her mind quickly, make decisions quickly, come to conclusions quickly. if she can jump into action and make the best decision she can, she's going to attempt to do so. this doesn't mean that all of her thoughts and decisions are good, it just means that she will try to rifle through a quick series of actions that will hopefully produce the best result, and go for it.
Happy belated (unofficial) nameday to Flower! I've been thinking about this request since I saw it a few weeks ago. I picked some based on what I might not have shared yet.
From this list about siblings by contentmusings:
1-2. How many siblings does your character have? Where does your character fall in the birth order?
Mazeh'a has two siblings: one twin brother named Yama and one younger sister named Ouzi. This is also their birth order, with Maz being the oldest over Yama by 1-2 minutes.
27-28. What “role” does each sibling play (protector, peacemaker, rebel, golden child, outsider….)? Was this role chosen or forced onto them?
Mazeh'a, as the oldest child born on an auspicious date for his people, carried the pressures of being the golden child. Confusingly for him, he was treated with the high expectations of a daughter in a matriarchal line and a son in a patriarchal line, while reaping few benefits of either place. His complicated feelings about "who he is" (wrt gender) had no place in his family; his mother couldn't help but push rigid gender roles onto him despite having struggled with them herself, as he was the brightest (and most like her) among her kids. He rose to the occasion, which only set the bar higher. He developed significant resentments against his brother as a result of being locked into this suffocating role.
Yama was forced into the role of rebel because he was incessantly compared to his twin in a negative light, and was berated for not measuring up. They used to be very close during young childhood, but he also formed resentments against Maz the more he was told he "should be more like his brother." He also believes Maz's role is still the better because "at least they bothered to pay attention to you." Maz disagrees. After a huge fight where he deliberately scarred Maz's face, he left for the seafaring life in Lominsan waters. Fate (MSQ) unfortunately pushed the twins back into each others' lives later.
Ouzi was born much later than the twins, so she got a mix of "golden child" and "peacemaker" roles. After the brothers left home for two different parts of the world, she was left to deal with their parents alone. Even though she was too young to have joined them, her bitterness grew as she imagined them having free, fulfilling lives 'out there' while she was stuck at home. Eventually, she's sent to find her brothers and convince them to come back home, but she is not happy about it.

Finally got my post for @diggingforkuponuts reverse asks event together! Thank you for hosting this event! It was fun to fill this out. (even if I’m posting this a bit later than I would have hoped, but that’s okay)

OC Habits Ask Game
Voice
Q: Are they talkative?
A: Not particularly, they’re definitely a more quiet and reserved type of person. That’s largely how and why the “stoic adventurer nodding” jokes end up happening.
Q: Is their voice quiet or loud?
A: More quiet and soft spoken.
Q: Do they have unusual speech patterns?
A: Voice can be a bit monotone, otherwise none that I know of.
Q: Do they have an accent or dialect?
A: Yes, though my figuring out how to implement it is still a work in progress. The short of it is that one of the main inspirations for Vess’ accent + dialect currently is London street english from around 1586. I got inspired by the YouTube video by Simon Roper: Conversational English in 1586 which is based on the book Familiar Dialogues by Jacques Bellow (1586) (added links to both the video and book for context).
I imagine that the village Vess is from has just enough distance from larger and more populated settlements that, among other aspects of life, style of speech doesn’t change as quickly. With that in mind, I imagine that the above mentioned accent + dialect is Vess’ actual natural way of speaking but he started forcing himself to speak in a style more closely resembling what you’d hear in game for practical purposes and a small few too many instances of people being rude about having a hard time understanding what they were trying to say. Though even doing that, they haven’t lost their original style of speech, if only because he makes a conscious and dedicated effort to keep it even if he doesn’t speak it as much.
Q: Do they like to sing? Are they good at it?
A: They can appreciate singing a good song, though I don’t imagine he sings very often, not around others at least, they get shy about it. He’s a pretty average singer, has a pleasant voice and can carry a tune well enough but otherwise doesn’t have anything remarkable going on.
Hands
Q: Left handed, right handed, or ambidextrous?
A: Right handed, though I could see him as the type to teach himself to be ambidextrous because it was practical.
Q: Neat or messy hand writing?
A: Skews messy because of how loose and flowing it can be, even so it is still legible.
Q: Do they draw/ paint a lot?
A: Yes, or at least tries to in that he does sketches in his journal on a fairly regular basis.
Q: Are they good or bad at making handicrafts?
A: Overall is or could be quite good at handicrafts. Being raised to end up becoming a skilled candlemaker being one such easy example.
Q: Do they need their hands occupied a lot? If so, what do they do?
A: Yes, they do (they may not entirely realize that though). General fidgeting if he’s otherwise occupied, especially with his hair and clothes. If they have some time they may work on small chores like mending clothes or doing simple maintenance on armor and weapons, also may work on hobbies like adding to his journal.
Food
Q: What’s their favorite/ least favorite food?
A: While I’m not sure about any one specific food, one of their favorite broad categories of food is sweets. He has quite the sweet tooth. Not sure about least favorite food right now.
Q: Are they a picky eater?
A: Was more picky when he was younger, but has been getting better about it as they get older, especially since taking up adventuring.
Q: Any food they avoid for reasons other than taste?
A: None that I know of right now.
Q: How are their table manners?
A: Overall has reasonably good table manners, though I think he’d also be having to relearn them on a semi- regular basis for whatever new places they end up at, so he’s trying his best in that regard.
Q: Do they rather eat too much or too little?
A: Would rather have too much, though they’ve unknowingly developed a bad habit of the opposite.
Q: Do they prefer to eat alone or with company?
A: Enjoys eating with company but is okay with eating alone as well.
Q: Are they good at cooking?
A: Yes, he first learned to cook from his family and then went on to learn more from the Culinarian’s Guild of Limsa Lominsa (as of right now I don’t think the actual CUL quest lines are part of Vess’ canon though).
Sleep
Q: Morning person or night owl?
A: Night owl, I think they have a late sleep schedule (delayed sleep phase).
Q: Easy to fall asleep or insomniac?
A: Skews insomniac, though I don’t necessarily think they have a proper case of it in the technical definition of the term, definitely still takes a while and can have some difficulty falling asleep.
Q: Light or heavy sleeper?
A: On average I think he’s not really either, medium sleeper (that just sounds a bit silly to say), I do think that his sleep has shifted more light or more heavy at different points in their life though.
Q: Do they move around a lot while sleeping?
A: No, they don’t tend to move around very much when sleeping unless they’re having nightmares, he does move around a bit more during those.
Q: Are they used to sleeping around others or alone?
A: He’s more used to sleeping around others. Shared sleeping space with his family growing up.
Q: Do they snore?
A: No.
Q: Other sleeping habits?
A: I’m thinking about throwing a Biphasic Sleep schedule into the mix, otherwise nothing especially notable I can think of right now.

Do they own a lava lamp or adjacent type of lighting (such as a jellyfish lamp)?
There is a room in her home that Hades and Hythlodaeus created for her as a sanctuary and quiet place when she was expecting their third child. It’s full of glowing flowers and various flora and greenery that cast soft colours through the branches of the trees they brought to life, and there are lots of the multi-hued glass lights in the style of those in Radz-at-Han too. When she’s having difficulty sleeping or gets tangled up in recollections and nightmares, she spends time there, which is much better than shutting herself in their small library, as she used to.
Do they cook? Are they good at it? Did they have a talent for it or did they need a lot of coaching?
She’s more of a baker than a cook, but very good at both. Arguably, it isn’t something that comes naturally to her (though her husbands have told her that she uses creation magic in the process without deliberately intending to) and she has worked on it since the conclusion of the Endwalker MSQ. She took up botany to help with her baking, and likes to use a lot of fresh ingredients in her various cakes and pastries and biscuits.
