Wir traffen da eine Sächsische starcke Garnison von 4000 Mann an, unter dem Commando der beyden Generals Revel und Caniz, welche die Fortification noch mit einer Contrescarpe vermehret. Die beyde Herren Commendanten nahmen den Printzen sammt Dero Suite nach vorgezeigten Pässen und Befehl an Sie nicht allein ganz höfflich auf, sondern versahen auch Dero angewiesenes Quartier mit einer Sentinelle, und tractirten dieselbige des folgenden Tages sehr wohl. Jedennoch konnte man Sie dahin nicht persuadiren, daß sie nach dem Innhalt des Königl. Befehls an Sie den Printzen biß an die Königl. Schwedischen Vor-Trouppen, um von denen streiffenden Pohlnischen Parteyen unangefochten zu bleiben, escortirten, indem sie vorwandten: Weilen zwischen Ihnen und Schweden kein Cartel aufgerichtet wäre, so würde die Sache von langer Hand seyn, biß sie dahin schrieben, und sich dessentwegen mit denen Schweden verglichen, sintemahlen die Schweden ungewarnter Dinge wenig Respect vor die Escorte haben würden: Ja sie hielten es vor viel gefährlicher, sich mit gewaffneter Mannschafft unter solche Leute des Landes zu wagen, welche die Escorte und Pässe nicht allezeit wohl verstehen. Man liesse sich endlich alles gefallen, obwohlen man sich eines bessern versehen, gienge dahero, nachdem der Printz eine einige Nacht, und über den Mittag da geblieben, und sich mit nöthigen Vivers auf die vorhabende fernere Reyse provisioniren lassen, gleich nach dem Mittag-Essen 3 Meil weiter, und zwar zu Fuß über die damahlen hart gefrohrne Weichsel biß nach Sluzovv.
