With no original plans to watch a censored version of ADDICTED, I opted to watch Episode 1. The actors are good. There are plenty of differences. Wu Bi (Gu Hai) is interested in Su Yu (Bai Luo Yin) because he reminds him of sculpture by his late mother. It's special because it was his mothers last work before her death. His father has remarried to Su Yu's mother yet he doesn't know Su Yu is his stepmother's son. Like the original they start with a contentious relationship as classmates.

Now Su Yu's father has a photo of his son that looks identical to the sculpture made by Wu Bi's mother which includes a mole on the ear just like Su Yu has.

In a flashback Wu Bi's mother says she is making a sculpture of the son of a new female friend. So it appears Su Yu's mother married the husband of her friend. Was foul play involved?

Now Gagaoolala has a tag line that says they're half brothers 100% Lovers. 🤔

While Viki has it as a BL (it can't be)

Update on my mood: going between ‘absolutely feral’ and ‘crying in nerd’ over the news that The Legend of Vox Machina is now an 24 episode animated series.

If anyone is looking for a show to watch, I present some reasons for it to be “24”

- A lead willing to do whatever it takes to do the right thing even if it’s against the law

- A beautifully complex character full of attitude and you dislike him at first but then love him more than anyone and then you hate him/ are disappointed

- A realistic, suspense filled plot that keeps you on your toes at all times

- Plot Twists everywhere

- I mean everywhere

- A very self confident woman who gives people attitude to the point where it’s too much at first but then you love her somehow

- It’s also a thing where if you stay on the show long enough, you may start off as a hero and end up as a villain/ traitor to the USA

- A storyline that makes it impossible for most characters to remain alive

- Seriously there’s maybe four people I know of who frequent most seasons and aren’t killed off

- Heartbreaking reveals that make you cry in your bed at 2 am and causes you to make a Tumblr post about the show

- Guys don’t watch the show

- I’m in fucking tears

- I used to watch it as a kid so I remember some stuff vaguely and I knew my second favorite character died but I LET MYSELF GET ATTACHED

- I MISS HER SO MUCH I KNOW SHES FICTIONAL BUT STILL

- I would also commit treason to save her life

- :(

- You don’t understand the pain until you watch the show

- But in all seriousness you should watch the show

- I’m just bitter because my second favorite character was killed

- I’ll just rewatch the seasons where she’s alive after I finish my binge

- That’ll make me happy and I can live in my world of denial that the last four seasons (basically) didn’t happen

- Worse part is that I remember the later seasons more than the first ones so I was less prepared for the plot twists but I knew the fates of most characters

- I’m so sad

- My favorite character will be a lot more than sad when he wakes up because my favorite survives BUT he does some bad stuff

Akatsuki No Yona

This is hand’s down my favorite shoujo and romance series. I’m just speechless whenever thinking about this series, that’s how much of a impact it left in me. I even started collecting the manga, and that is a huge thing for me, seriously. 

Now, let’s talk about the start of the series. I bet pretty much everyone hated Yona in the first two or so episodes. A pampered princess with annoying voice going all “So-won, so-won!” Then happened something no one was prepared for. Yona and Hak fled from the palace and at some point everyone thought they were dead. But the truth is something far different. 

Yona meets a priest who tells her to search for the four dragons of Kouka. In the season, she manages to meet all of them, what I’m so glad about, even though we get to head Zeno’s story only in manga. The dragon’s all have different powers and circumstances. While Ki-ja follows Yona and Hak without resistance, they meet some trouble with Shin-Ah and Jae-ha.  

This series has one of the strongest character growth I’ve seen. The biggest prize goes to Yona without second thoughts. When you compare the Yona from first episode with the one from the final the changes in her are drastic. And the growth continues in the manga. Then there’s the four dragons, Hak and our beatiful boy Yun. Also, don’t forget about Tae-Jun. 

I have to have this one moment to talk about the relationship between Yona and Hak. This princess-bodyguard thing they have going on. Hak is so in love with Yona, but doesn’t dare to touch her, much for the sake of the old King and maybe So-won. Now, Yona is pretty oblivious to his feelings (which brings many awkward and funny moments), while she’s still heartbroken about So-won. I can’t say much, but in the manga, things get pretty interesting afterwards (hue, hue, hue). 

Beautiful characters combined with beatiful art-style and unique backstories. This anime is a gem within all the shoujo anime there is. I have yet to come across with a shoujo anime that has story and character as strong as this one. 

Final Impression: Don’t let her innocent look deceive you.

Akagami No Shirayuki-hime 1st and 2nd season

A review about the best shoujo of 2015-2016, along with the masterpiece called Akatsuki No Yona. I absolutely love Sorata Akizuki-sensei’s work and Shirayuki especially has to be one of her masterpieces. With this Yona, and Soredemo, we have the strongest fantasy shoujo there possibly could be found in the resent years.

I absolutely adore medieval settings along with some fantasy and things out of this world. But the biggest reason why I absolutely love this anime is because of my biggest weakness. In Shirayuki we have both a red-head and an albino. Given the tittle, it’s not hard to guess that the red-head in question is Shirayuki, while the prize of our adorable albino goes to the second prince of Clarines kingdom, Wistaria Zen. He’s a huge crush of mine, not to mention his look I could die for, even his personality is something I’d like to have in a man if I had a boyfriend (foreveralone, lol).

Now about the story itself. Shirayuki is a girl with an unnatural red-hair and has caught the interest of a prince of her kingdom. Not wanting to be forced into marriage with the same prince, she flees from her kingdom and ends up accidentally meeting Zen on her runaway trip. He turns out to be the second prince of kingdom Clarines. Shirayuki studies and eventually enrolls into the palace as one of the pharmacists. Inside and outside of the palace we meet a bunch of new characters; like Obi and Ryuu. The second season gives up more insight and character growth the prince Raji of Tanbarun, which was much appreciated, since his first impression wasn’t exactly the most pleasant one (he was forcing Shirayuki to marry him).

The love story between Shirayuki and Zen is too much for me to take! It’s not clichéd, and most important of all, it’s very innocent and pure. Completely different from most shoujo’s that concentrate on high school romance (seriously, I’ve read so many of those manga’s that I’m getting bored of the overused scenes). I need some changes and Akagami no Shirayuki-hime brought me that!  

This has to be one of the favorite romances I’ve watched and read. Zen is perfect in the manga! And here I don’t mean only his appearance, but his personality too. Both him and Shirayuki are headstrong and aren’t afraid to face danger. This makes Zen even more worried about her, but it doesn’t interrupt their relationship too much. I love Shirayuki as the female lead, she’s the kind of person I wish I could be (haha, seriously). I suppose it’s kind of obvious by now, but I do prefer the manga over anime. I hope that there would be a third season once we’ll have enough material.

Final Impression: A different kind of Snow White.

Zetsuen No Tempest

Wow, I did the original review back in the 2013 and it was very... simple(?). I’ve always been into supernatural and mystery things, which is why I enjoyed this series. This was one of the ones, where everything is more than meets the eye! I liked the main characters, even though they were kind of typical types - a siscon, tsundere, that “MC’s bestfriend” kind of guy. And then there was the girl everyone loved. 

It seems that when it came to the music, I found it hard like the fact that the song was completely in English. Ah, how much I regret those words.  Nothing's Carved In Stone is an amazing band and I absolutely love the song they have in Kingdom. The second opening was good as well.  

I’m no Shakespearian, and while I have read Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, I have no clue about The Tempest - which was heavily referenced in this anime. Given that I personally enjoyed the anime very much (enough to give it 10/10), I might take a look at the play. Oh, Hamlet was also referenced in the series, so at least at some points I knew what was going on, haha.  

Haha, it seems that I’m easy to please as long as there’s hints of “romantic” feelings and relationships. The ending truly left me wanting for more. 

Final Impression: “What’s past is prologue.”
