Here I'm writing about my first impressions of new anime series as well as final impressions of the ones I have completed. I hope you enjoy them!

First Impressions – Winter 2018

What is the best way to let your followers know that you’re alive. Write a first impression. Seriously, the season is almost over, but I’m getting this done only now. I’ve been having some hard time catching with reality, which is why I haven’t had any time and chance to watch anime lately. I will try my best though. (there’s so many reviews to write, help me!).

Grancrest Senki This will be most likely your very typical “light novel gets an anime adaption” that is a huge disappointment to everyone who’s fan of the original light novel. I have already seen people complaining on the comment section how the anime leaves so much out. Still, I’m curious to what this anime can bring to us.

Sword Dynasty Eh, well. I have no idea why I even started to watch this one, but the synopsis seemed interesting. I like action so what could hurt me to check out this anime, right? Nothing, hopefully. (I got Kingdom vibes, yeah). 

Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card-hen My ultimate favorite anime and my first anime crush is back again! I’ve been super excited ever since it was announced that not only we will get Clear Card-hen manga but also an anime adaption, will the original cast returning! This is definitely an anime that I will binge-watch once it will get more episode and I will get some free time on my schedule.

Gakuen Babysitters Another anime which manga I absolutely love! Gakuen Babysitters have been life ever since I discovered it for the first time. This anime definitely hold in it all the cuteness one need to survive a day in their life.

Kokkoku The synopsis seemed cool so I decided to give it a chance. Honestly, I didn’t know it would be this cool! I got hooked and I know this is definitely one of the series on this list that I’m definitely going to complete.

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-kun Okay, I need romance in my life. And I would never ever let a series pass me (unless it’s harem). It’s always a plus if we get a rom-com instead of your typical, sometimes very dragging shoujo drama. Can’t wait to see what more a shounen romance series can give us!

Violet Evergarden To be honest, I’m afraid to touch this series. KyoAni is my favorite studio and I’m genuinely having high hopes for this anime, which is why I’m very hesitant to face the series head on. But I will do my best! (Another anime on my binge-watch list).

Death Match Kara Hajimaru...  Isekai is not my forte (aside of Tate no Yuusha), but I wanted to give this anime a try as it seemed interesting. We’ll see.  

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens Okay, honestly, this is one of those series I’m just testing if it will work. The synopsis seemed interesting which is why I thought I could give this anime a chance.

Nanatsu No Taizai: Imashime No Fukkatsu I’ve seen the first season and I loved it, so I see no reasons not to watch the second one, right?      

Darling in the FranXX This anime wasn’t on my watchlist originally, as I’m not a strong fan of mecha, but I saw the main characters getting high places on the couple lists, so this peeked my interest. Let’s see what this anime will bring to us.

Rokka No Yuusha

Here to drop a review - also this tumblr will be under construction for a while. 

Rokka will be the last review of animes that I completed in 2015. Do take into notice that I have also completed Ansatsu Kyoshitsu and Kingdom but I have decided to complete the second seasons before writing a review of them (yes after three years, I still have to complete them XD). Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers is an anime that aired during summer 2015 and it has the total of 12 episodes.

Rokka no Yuusha tells us a story about world, where with the revival of the Demon God, six heroes will be chosen and are granted the power to fight against fiends. A problem occurs when the heroes unite and find out that there are seven of them. This could only mean that there’s an imposter among them? Who is it?

I generally find this kind of concept enjoying and interesting, so I decided to check the story. The characters were your kind-of stereotypical ones: a guy who claims to be the strongest, the misunderstood quiet girl, the pampered princess, the i-do-anything-for-you guard, the super strong little child and so forth. My favorite character had to be Fremy, even though she looks like the female version of Suzuno Fuusuke of Inazuma Eleven XD. Then again, I’m weak for albinos!

The openings and endings of this series were fabulous! My personal favorite has to be Nameless Heart, sang by Aoi Yuuki, the VA of Fremy.

For an anime adaption of a LN this anime managed to do something most other adaptions can’t – tell a complete story that doesn’t left me hopeful for a second season/continuation. By the end of the anime we know there’s a continuation, but I at least was satisfied with what I got. If the anime was to end there and not get a second season (which seems it will not), I’d still feel like I wouldn’t miss anything. It was fine with just that.

Rokka no Yuusha is not a strong and memorable anime. Due to the suspense and mystery, I think this is an anime you might watch once or twice (once enough time has passed for you to forget about the plot). It’s not something you can watch repetitively, because it’ll soon loses it thrill.

Despite this, I think Rokka is definitely worth watch! It was one of my favorites animes of 2015, if I recall right! Haha. It has a nice story and characters – and of course, if you want to know more, just check the light novel.

Akagami No Shirayuki-hime 1st and 2nd season

A review about the best shoujo of 2015-2016, along with the masterpiece called Akatsuki No Yona. I absolutely love Sorata Akizuki-sensei’s work and Shirayuki especially has to be one of her masterpieces. With this Yona, and Soredemo, we have the strongest fantasy shoujo there possibly could be found in the resent years.

I absolutely adore medieval settings along with some fantasy and things out of this world. But the biggest reason why I absolutely love this anime is because of my biggest weakness. In Shirayuki we have both a red-head and an albino. Given the tittle, it’s not hard to guess that the red-head in question is Shirayuki, while the prize of our adorable albino goes to the second prince of Clarines kingdom, Wistaria Zen. He’s a huge crush of mine, not to mention his look I could die for, even his personality is something I’d like to have in a man if I had a boyfriend (foreveralone, lol).

Now about the story itself. Shirayuki is a girl with an unnatural red-hair and has caught the interest of a prince of her kingdom. Not wanting to be forced into marriage with the same prince, she flees from her kingdom and ends up accidentally meeting Zen on her runaway trip. He turns out to be the second prince of kingdom Clarines. Shirayuki studies and eventually enrolls into the palace as one of the pharmacists. Inside and outside of the palace we meet a bunch of new characters; like Obi and Ryuu. The second season gives up more insight and character growth the prince Raji of Tanbarun, which was much appreciated, since his first impression wasn’t exactly the most pleasant one (he was forcing Shirayuki to marry him).

The love story between Shirayuki and Zen is too much for me to take! It’s not clichéd, and most important of all, it’s very innocent and pure. Completely different from most shoujo’s that concentrate on high school romance (seriously, I’ve read so many of those manga’s that I’m getting bored of the overused scenes). I need some changes and Akagami no Shirayuki-hime brought me that!  

This has to be one of the favorite romances I’ve watched and read. Zen is perfect in the manga! And here I don’t mean only his appearance, but his personality too. Both him and Shirayuki are headstrong and aren’t afraid to face danger. This makes Zen even more worried about her, but it doesn’t interrupt their relationship too much. I love Shirayuki as the female lead, she’s the kind of person I wish I could be (haha, seriously). I suppose it’s kind of obvious by now, but I do prefer the manga over anime. I hope that there would be a third season once we’ll have enough material.

Final Impression: A different kind of Snow White.

Log Horizon 2nd Season

There’s a few more series I need write reviews for before I finally manage to complete all reviews of 2015 series. So, this time we’re checking Log Horizon’s second season. Damn, this is a one wonderful anime! Personally, I can’t just get enough of it.

Log Horizon’s 2nd season continues from where the first season ended. Shiroe and Naotsugu are away to win against goblin king with a party they’ve gathered in order to get money. Akatsuki is left alone in Akihabara and she’s off to meet a strong enemy, what puts the whole city to do some training. The youngsters are going on a journey to get stronger (gain levels) and accidentally meet Roe2, whom they find out to be Shiroe’s alternate character avatar. Adding to all this Krusty is still missing.

I mentioned in my final impression of the first season that Log Horizon and SAO shouldn’t be compared, because they’re completely different. I stand to my previous statement. While SAO concentrates on one main protagonist, his relationships and journeys, Log Horizon is more about party members, tactics, politics and the overall world building. In the second season, we learn so much more about the world. While the NPC’s seem to have personalized to be more than just NPC we are also introduced a “new” race of unknown origin. They are known as Travelers – who are further divided into Genius and Fools, or Observer and Collector as the anime decides to call them.

Personally, along with Grimgar, I find this as one of the best “woken up in a strange world and trapped there” series. I have even thought of buying and reading the light novels of both series. The most disjunctive factor is the fact that you can’t die in Log Horizon. Or at least once you die, you can be revived. But apparently dying in that world makes you lose a part of your memory and eventually you can forget completely just who you are. I have to admit that the part where Shiroe and Akatsuki died and met in that weird world, on the shore of a big ocean, was definitely the most beautiful scene in this season.      

As the story in light novel still continues, Log Horizon 2nd was left/ended in a cliff hanger. First of all, it was nice to meet Shiroe’s ex-party members from Debauchery Tea Party, especially the leader Kanami, who made her first in-person appearance in the 14th episode. We also learned that there’s more than Yamato server, Kanami is caught in the China server. There is no idea where this all is heading towards. I’m excited to learn more!

I said this already, but Log Horizon is definitely my favorite trapped in a mysterious/game-world-series. This anime also introduced MAN WITH A MISSION to me and that band has been one of my favorites ever since. Especially their song “Seven Deadly Sins” that was also used as the second opening song of Nanatsu No Taizai. I truly wish and hope that once light novel will have enough material, we’ll receive another season! I wanna know what happened to Krusty! I want some decent and actual, sweet romance!

Final Impression: The Villain in Glasses is truly scary.

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka. 

I decided to write a review, since I had a free time while my sister is paying her bills. Again a title copypaste, because that title is just too long for me handle. The only one I can possibly try to bother remember and write is the complete title of AnoHana. I recall the shortened title is DanMachi, but for me this is Dungeon ni. 

Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon? There is a simple reason why I decided pick up this anime. Bell is ALBINO and that is my BIGGEST weakness when it comes to anime characters (also, red-heads). Now, Bell’s dream is to become the greatest adventurer in the world. Why is that? So that he may meet and be together with Ais, a strong female warrior who saved his life and he has ever since admired and loved. Well, this sounds familiar... No? 

Adding to the harem, we have Hestia, an energetic goddess to whose family Bell belongs to, Arde or Lili, who makes me question my image on lolis and various other women Bell encounters during his journey. Now much like to Japanese light novels, the MC is not all that he seems and this is the fact for bell too. Infact, it’s Hestia who lies to him, having him being oblivious off his own abilities. He became level 2 a month after starting his journeys, which was the fastest ever. 

In Danmachi, we have that slight ecchiness (because of Hestia), but the story mostly concentrates of Bell and how he slowly becomes stronger and gathers companions. Now, what I personally dislike is that Bell is very dense as a character, but I guess it works for the plot. Hestia like totally has him wrapped around her finger, expect for when it comes to love. There, she has to have a frontal battle with Ais, and I have no idea whom I’m supposed to support here. 

I enjoyed this story as a adaption of a light novel, it had a good enough ending to work a as stand alone, but it left me carving for me and I guess I have to read the light novel at some point (I guess, that’s the point of the adaption, though). I don’t particularly like anime that claim to be romance, but there’s only that implied harem with no conclusion. All in all it’s a story that was enjoyable, something I ranked as “very good” - but this isn’t really worth of rewatching. 

Final Impression: Want my answer? Yes.

First Impressions - Fall 2017 

Since the start of November I’ve been busy with volunteering work and NanoWrimo, which is why I haven’t gotten anything decent written down. It also took me a while to check the first episodes of the series I planned on watching. Fall series is definitely not a strong season overall, but there are some series that could become my favorites of the years. 

Omiai Aite Wa Oshiego  If this wasn’t a 4 min series, I wouldn’t be able to complete it. This is definitely not a strong anime, but I wanted to give it a try since it’s romance and josei - a genre I have not been a big fan of, but recently started reading thanks to mangaka’s like Miyazono Izumi, Enjouji Maki and Aruga Rie. Well we’ll see what’s going to happen. 

Black Clover  I’ve been waiting for this anime! Seriously, Black Clover is currently one of the action centered shounen manga that I’m reading. Sadly, the comment sections ruined my anticipation (I should’ve learned by now never to read comment sections) so I need my time to start watching this series seriously. I can do it!

Juuni Taisen  I like anything when there’s zodiacs involved. Also, survival battles are my quitly pleasure. Now, I’ve seen only one episode so far, but I can surely say that Nezumi has to be one of my favorite characters, haha. Then there’s that Rabbit/Usagi who looks like Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul (I did not say this, it was the social media!). Let’s see who will be the last one standing. 

Just Because!  Seriously, can’t people come up with better names for their series? Why did I started to watch this anime, Just Because! Yes. Taking matters seriously, anime originals are always welcomed with me, I mean Tsuki ga Kirei was a masterpiece. Since it’s original story, I can’t say what exactly I’m expecting from this, but I want to see cute moments and possible romance. 

Dies Irae  This was definitely a wild card for me. I have no idea what to think of this series, the first (zero) episode was only the preview, so the real story has yet to start for me. So far, it seems very interesting, but it could come to a quick downfall, we don’t know till we see it all. 

Houseki No Kuni  Honestly, this anime seems to have much more into it that I had originally thought. The concept seems intriguing, I love the art style and seriously, they seem to have jelly hair (I know they’re supposed to be gems, but it seems like jelly to me). I want to see more of this. 

Kekkai Sensen & Beyond  Since I’ve seen the first season, it would feel weird not to watch the second one. I haven’t actually checked the first episode yet, so I have no idea where this season will lead us to. But I’m always up for some blonde siblings bringing chaos to the world (ah, it was only the brother... sorry). 

Mahoustukai No Yome  This has to be the most anticipated series of the fall season. I have very conflicted feelings towards it, because I usually tend to put on-hold the hyped up series (still haven’t caught up with Haikyuu! or finished Yuri On Ice). When the net is all about some series, I can be sure that I’m most likely not watching them, lol. Don’t get me wrong, I too love all the series, but I usually tend to watch them once the biggest flame has subsided. I’m sure the same will happen with this series as well. 

Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau  This is one of the series I’ve been most excited about this season. I absolutely adore the art style and the feeling this anime gives me. So far the plot seems interesting and I hope that it’ll remain like this till the end. I don’t have any high expections from any of the series, but I truly hope that this one will be worth watching and catches me off guard. 

Netojuu no Susume  Because I need my neet otaku times! And playing internet games can be so much fun, especially when you’re playing the opposite sex. This is pretty much what this series is about, unless they’ll going to add more drama into this. Who knows? We’ll have to see it. 

Evil or Live Because someone smart commented that LIVE is written as EVIL backwards. (seriously, this is written as evil or lie in my notebook). Another quitly pleasure anime, I guess. I mean, this is also about survival, but in a slightly different enviroment. In a way, this also brings me Btooom vibes (once again, a survival anime). I’m excited. 

Inuyashiki  Because the list will not be complete with a good seinei anime. Let’s not forget that the opening is by MAN WITH A MISSION, which has become one of my favorite bands since Log Horizon. I have yet to see what this is really about, since I’m not even reading the manga, but I’m thinking about the possibility. 

RoboMasters the Animated Series  The last one of the list, but definitely not the least one. Along with Kujira no Kara this has to be one of the series I’m anticipating the most this season. It was supposed to air in summer, but was postponed to fall - and even now we don’t get regular release. The anime surely is airing regularly, but due to being under radar, there’s no fansub groups to sub is on weekly basics. I guess I can only wait for the rest of the episodes to come by.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku 

Title copypasted, because do you seriously expect me to write that all? Yes? No. It’s Oregairu Zoku time, people, and Hachiman is in for some un-wanted love comedy. Hachimans encounters of complicated female characters, the series continues. 

Back in my first review of this series, I pointed out that there’s definitely something wrong with Hachiman’s love comedy. And there’s not much difference in this season, vice versa, the strong women with interest toward Hachiman only grows bigger with the addition of Isshiki Iroha. Well, to bad Hachiman still only sees Saika, lol. 

I’m glad we got the second season, because it takes us deeper into the story and giving us some character development. We see Yukinon past, but also get to meet “hachiman’s first love” and damn that was awkward. What also made love this season, is the development of the art, what makes it just gorgeous and perfect. Hachiman is so handsome! (and less edgy, lol).

While this anime is so intriguing it feels complex as hell. I feel like a stupid person for sometimes not understanding what’s going on, why the characters are reacting this way and how come things took turn towards this direction. I wonder, is it because I’m no longer a High School student that I lost the insight to understand one. Or is it because of cultural difference? Or does it take a Hachiman to understand Hachiman? 

My guess is because this is an adaption. The original light novel is written in Hachiman’s POV which means we get go into his head all the time. His feelings and reactions we understand them all (at least what is given to us to understand). I feel like the light novel gives us so much more information than the anime could, but I can be offmark here. I guess, I need to read the light novel to back up this claim. 

Now what comes to the romantical development, here we have this adorable moment of Hachiman and Yukinon blushing. Other than that, well... I personally like Yukinon more and I would love for them to have an happy ending, but I guess I’m satisfied as long as he ends up with someone (other than Saika) within a reasonable development. The light novel is still publishing, but I heard it’s marching towards it end. Hopefully, we get a third season that concludes this all. 

Final Impression:  "I want something genuine."  or. Was High School life supposed to be this hard?

Danball Senki I’m usually extremely slow with long anime series, which is why I surprised even myself by completing this anime so fast. On the countrary, I started watching the sequal right after, at it’s been 4 years since then. See, I said that I’m slow. 

As a person who has watched Beyblade, B-daman, Bakugan and other “battle-with-a-non-alive-thing” I have to admit that this anime brought me nothing new. It’s still the same old routine where “Let’s battle,” turns into “We must save the world!” And once again, the saviors of the world are middle schoolers, cool… 

Yet, I had so much fun and was brought me entertaiment, was the factor that this was a Level-5 anime. As a HUGE Inazuma Eleven lover, I just had to take a glimpse of this anime and must say I wasn’t dissapointed. The humor and the fact that a few characters were same from IE world, was fun. The plot was also so like Level 5 - LBX will either destroy or save the world.  

It’s a children anime, but there’s so much more to it. I absolutely fell in love with Ban and Jin! But have to say that Haibara Yuuya is most likely my favorite. The new season brings new characters and I find them so interesting. 

Final Impression: Children, it’s either save or destroy.

Personally, LBX is a step up from those other shows because of how the battles are so well choreographed and strategized. Well, in the Anime anyways. The games do, however, really make you work for your victories the more you go into the story.

In addition, while the characters are fairly basic, the narrative around them is pretty intricate and surprisingly adult at times with political bureaucracy coming into play. Hell, there’s actual character DEATH in the story.

You’re right. When fighting with LBX you need more insight ability and coordination than when fighting with spinning tops or those toys that shoot marbles, or even all those “card-games where the monsters come alive.” I personally think it takes more to master an LBX, what you could think of as small moving robots, than any of the previous. The only thing that could be strategically more complex are those card-games, but it’s due to various monsters, rules, card types etc. But LBX being robots, also give more variations to the battle strategy.   

The series I found personally as intriguiding as Danball Senki, is Beyblade. The main characters were built up greatly, and while they were also fairy basic, each one was interesting and personal. There was dept to the characters and I found it interesting how they changed teams and challenged each other in tournaments. This proved that while they were friends, they were also rivals and each and everyone of them strived for the glory. Even if we all knew there could only be this “one certain” champion. Seriously, how do you fight while those spinning tops!!!? I recall there wasn’t much politics involved, (some, but not much) but seriously, I watched the Four Kids dub, so who knows how much they left out. 

Yes, my only pity here, is that I watched the English dub. Four Kids censored scenes (for example Kai’s death in third seson (he was revived later)) and I didn’t get to hear Kumai Motoko voicing Tyson/Takao. For me, Beyblade had that something the other series don’t - which is the reason I’ve completed all three season (even while people find the second season less interesting). Sadly, Metal Fight couldn’t hold the spirit, but that could also be due to the lack of JPN dub-ENG sub episodes back in the days it started airing. It’s troubling to pick it up again after all the years.

Pokémon Diamond And Pearl: Sinnoh League Victors

Yes, I watch Pokémon, gotta problem with that? Pokémon Diamon and Pearl: Sinnoh League Victors is the final and shortest season of DP series, containing the episodes 158-191.

Having watched the previous seasons, and pretty much growing up with the original gang, I never came to like Dawn as much as Misty or even May. There was not even any interesting rivals like Gary or Drew, though I have to admit that Paul was interesting during the Battle Frontier... but that was in the previous season, yeah. I wonder how Paul grew up like that despite Reggie being there. I guess the only decent rival’s were Barry (with his endless nanadatte, and reseblance to Pokémon Specials Pearl... duh.) and Kenny (I’m weak toward red-heads).  

There’s not much to say about the episodes. We got to see various things, like Dawn’s fear of pusle and minun (why?), her being mirror image of a royalty and various other episodes. What was the best thing in this season, was the fact that we finally got the League battle, which meant that we also got to see Ash’s old gang. And Qyndaquil evolving!  

It was also in this season, that I finally found the Japanese material of this anime and got to hear their original voice’s. I mean, no offence to all dubbers, but I prefer Japanese voice over dubbed anyday! (maybe expect for the Finnish dub of the original series, because that’s my childhood dub and it was EPIC! The jokes and everything were top-notch!). It’s good that the rest of the season’s can be found in Japanese also! (and we have Kaji Yuki and Miyano Mamoru there). Rica Matsumoto is also a legend.

Now it’s not a surprise and Ash once again didn’t become a champion (with his logic and battle style, I do not wonder), but at least he did better than in Hoenn. And surprise, surprise his journey continues. This time, we’re losing Brock too. (cries).

Final Impression: This kid (sigh), he still has a long way to become a Champion.

Library Wars 

My plan is to finish 2015 reviews in this month, but we’ll see if I can do it, haha. This time we’re taking a peek at Library Wars (Toshokan Sensou). I believe this is one of the few series I refer by it’s english name rather than romanization. None, the less it’s still good. 

Library Wars tells us a story about future Japan, where the books and media get censored. A Library Task Force is created to protect these books. Now let us enter Kasahara Iku, the first woman in the Library Task Force. Aside from protecting her precious books, she’s here to find her “prince”, who saved her five years earlier. Also meet Doujou Atsushi, a guy who is short and also the leader of “Dojo Squad”. Could he be the prince Iku’s been searching for. 

If only these two could hit off better from the start, it could happen. This anime has great humor and action, while not forgetting the romance-concept. I found the characters very interesting and the plot intriguing. It had all the things I require from a good story. 

In fact, I completed this anime in a matter of a few days. I even got my friend (who watches so-much-less-anime-than-me) to watch this and we watched some of the episodes together. This is truly an great anime to watch if you like the genre. 

I have yet to see the sequel parts (the movie) of this anime and here I’m yearning to watch this anime again. The nostalgia hit me hard - it could happen any time soon, lol. I also like this anime as it’s more appealing to older audience, with older characters and more serious/offcial/major(?) plots. Just a perfect thing for this no-longer-a-teen who has watched/read far too many shoujo series! Haha. 

Final Impression: When your prince charming is closer than you think.

Akatsuki No Yona

This is hand’s down my favorite shoujo and romance series. I’m just speechless whenever thinking about this series, that’s how much of a impact it left in me. I even started collecting the manga, and that is a huge thing for me, seriously. 

Now, let’s talk about the start of the series. I bet pretty much everyone hated Yona in the first two or so episodes. A pampered princess with annoying voice going all “So-won, so-won!” Then happened something no one was prepared for. Yona and Hak fled from the palace and at some point everyone thought they were dead. But the truth is something far different. 

Yona meets a priest who tells her to search for the four dragons of Kouka. In the season, she manages to meet all of them, what I’m so glad about, even though we get to head Zeno’s story only in manga. The dragon’s all have different powers and circumstances. While Ki-ja follows Yona and Hak without resistance, they meet some trouble with Shin-Ah and Jae-ha.  

This series has one of the strongest character growth I’ve seen. The biggest prize goes to Yona without second thoughts. When you compare the Yona from first episode with the one from the final the changes in her are drastic. And the growth continues in the manga. Then there’s the four dragons, Hak and our beatiful boy Yun. Also, don’t forget about Tae-Jun. 

I have to have this one moment to talk about the relationship between Yona and Hak. This princess-bodyguard thing they have going on. Hak is so in love with Yona, but doesn’t dare to touch her, much for the sake of the old King and maybe So-won. Now, Yona is pretty oblivious to his feelings (which brings many awkward and funny moments), while she’s still heartbroken about So-won. I can’t say much, but in the manga, things get pretty interesting afterwards (hue, hue, hue). 

Beautiful characters combined with beatiful art-style and unique backstories. This anime is a gem within all the shoujo anime there is. I have yet to come across with a shoujo anime that has story and character as strong as this one.

Junketsu No Maria 

I have a very unconditional opinion about this anime; it’s a master piece. From the art to the characters, to the plot itself, this series managed to wrap it all into 12 episodes. The lack of story telling, open ending and the fact that nowadays many anime series are just “sneek peeks” of the LN’s/Manga’s of the same name, you rarely receive a goodly wrapped up story with satisfying ending. 

Junketsu No Maria managed to do it perfectly. Now, Maria is a virgin witch in the medieval era, when witches were hated and feared. She’s also a person who hates wars and battles and always interrupts the battles between France and England, to the despise of both sides. This makes even the heaven’s hate her and she receives a divine punisment. The moment she loses her virginity, she also loses her powers. 

There’s a heavy theme on the Christianity and witch hunt. The most hinted theme here is - maybe not so surprisingly - Virgin Mary. I can’t believe that it took me almost the whole series to realize that Joseph is... you know, Joseph. We meet a lot of well rounded characters in the story, and while Joseph is the simples and most plain one, you simply can not hate him. Let’s not forget about Priapos, a joseph-look-alike Incubus. I wonder if that guy even received his manhood, the poor guy.     

This series caught my attention, because I thought the style reminded me very much of Nanatsu No Taizai. In the end, it’s not so similar, but I’m glad I took interest in the series. From start to finish I enjoyed the series very much. I loved it to the point I started rewatching it not long ago. This is definitely an anime that I’ll remember as one of my favorites for a long time. 

Final Impression: Heaven’s divine punishment is heavy.

Phi Brain: Kami No Puzzle 2nd Season

Finally got this season completed! It’s unsual to have a puzzle anime and that’s why even though I have no idea how to solve them, I still enjoy the battles and see just how Kaito is able to win against his new enemy, Orpheus Order.

I have to say that the season wasn’t as interesting as the first one, which is typical for any series XD. But I still enjoyed watching through it. It was great continuation and Freecell was nice antagonist even though he will never win over Rook, who was so cute in this season! X)

I loved how everything wasn’t as it seemed at first. This whole season was a total mind fuck with all the “It’s truth but it’s also a lie, but still a truth”-type of things. But slowly, the truth was revealed to us watchers as well! :)

I really liked the idea of this season and the OPENING was just too awesome to hadle! I can’t believe that Nano is actually a woman OwO Well, if you listen to her other songs then you can tell that she’s is one, but in this she sounded so manly!

That’s it for the second season! Now I will take break for sometime and wait for the third season to air! I really hope that Rook and Freecell as well as everyone from the Orpheus Order will appear there! And the new antagonist seems to have white hair again (surprise, surprise) or maybe I’m wrong? XD Anyway,  I’m OFF! ~

Digimon Frontier

Yet another great anime completed.I find it funny that I skipped Tamers and went onto the fourth season. For some reason, I found this more interesting that the third season, but I will surely watch Tamers also… after completing Savers first. I have never really find interest to watch this anime even though I have known it for years and love the first two seasons XD. Somehow the idea of human turning into digimon wasn’t really to my mind and that’s why it took me hella long to actually get interest into this series. I don’t remember what suddenly caught me into this series; I just wanted to complete all the digimon series and decided start with this one. After all I have always loved the 40th episode of DF even though I haven’t really completed the anime. Yeah, I did watch episodes from there and here, but never managed to watch all of them. I loved the series, and to say that the art of their transformation is one of the best ones! Takuya is a great leader; ever though he can be annoying from time to time… and the other characters fill him up greatly! Tomoki is great fourth gen Takeru XD For some reason I have soft spot for young ones. Of course this anime will never reach the levels of first season, but it was really good on it’s own.

Final Impression: Fouth season, and the goggle-heads still rule!

Tonari No Atashi

First time doing this about completed manga, yai! I have to say that this manga awakened in me such different feelings that I even ended up crying when reading the last chapter. And for once, a middle school love story! I really have read too many high school romances…   My first impression, when starting this manga was “Great, this is going to be just another, I’m in love with my childhood friend but he doesn’t feel the same about me… and yeah, he’s going out with some girl…” Honestly, I thought that this was going to be yet another one of those where childhood friends struggle through love, but end up together in the end. That’s why I was quite surprised, when the out come was different from the typical shoujo. To tell the truth, I spoiled myself by reading the last chapter and was quite surprised when Nina didn’t end up with Kyousuke but with someone called Miyake. (WHO IS THAT?)  To know what had happened for them to get into this situation I had no other choice, but to start reading it. And it was so good that I ended up completing it in one day XD. I’m glad that I started to read this, since it was so different from those typical “OMG I FELL IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT AND BTW HE LIKES ME TOO…” type of stories XD Something realistic for once in a while. I feel bad for Kyousuke, but he did the right choice. And I’m sure that Miyake is going to make Nina happy.

Danball Senki

I’m usually extremely slow with long anime series, which is why I surprised even myself by completing this anime so fast. On the countrary, I started watching the sequal right after, at it’s been 4 years since then. See, I said that I’m slow. 

As a person who has watched Beyblade, B-daman, Bakugan and other “battle-with-a-non-alive-thing” I have to admit that this anime brought me nothing new. It’s still the same old routine where “Let’s battle,” turns into “We must save the world!” And once again, the saviors of the world are middle schoolers, cool... 

Yet, I had so much fun and was brought me entertaiment, was the factor that this was a Level-5 anime. As a HUGE Inazuma Eleven lover, I just had to take a glimpse of this anime and must say I wasn’t dissapointed. The humor and the fact that a few characters were same from IE world, was fun. The plot was also so like Level 5 - LBX will either destroy or save the world.  

It’s a children anime, but there’s so much more to it. I absolutely fell in love with Ban and Jin! But have to say that Haibara Yuuya is most likely my favorite. The new season brings new characters and I find them so interesting. 

Final Impression: Children, it’s either save or destroy.
