I want to talk about Thor and how love often veils him from the truth of the matter   -------------------   might be a weakness at times ,  a strength at others .   the obvious example is with Loki ,  and the fact that Thor is quick to overlook and make allowances for the bullshit Loki does ,  which in fact ,  no - one else tolerates .  others might even find it aggravating to witness Thor defending his sibling at times .   

and sure ,  it means Thor gets hurt more often ,  is endangered or emotionally battered by Loki’s antics ,  but it does also strengthen their relationship in that Loki knows they always have Thor in their corner .   and it eventually is a point that brings them together .   I guess Thor’s tolerance is much ,  much higher ,  proportionally with a lifespan that extends thousands of years .

another example is Thor and the human race   -------------------   he’s seen the best of humanity and truly ,  the worst of it too ,  but his love for the human race keeps him going back ,  ensures that he’s there to protect them from danger ,  to endure the changes that come with fame and criticism and a spotlight on all his actions .   and people themselves might say they’re beyond saving ,  there’s a lot of ugly shit going on ,  on Earth ,  at most times .   but Thor chooses to see the positives ,  chooses to let his love for humans guide him ,  and it’s his biggest strength .

And she couldn’t have any of that.

... At least, she thought she couldn’t have any of that. Things like a home, friends, a family... Love? They were all so distant to her back then. All of these things she thought she’d never find.

With a small smile, she nodded. “I did. But... Right now, I have all I ever really wanted. I have all of my friends to thank for that.”
