Tadaima. Movie was good, obviously - it's a faithful adaptation of a good part in the manga, it was gonna be fun. But after season 1 of the anime was what it was, my main problem with this movie is it was too faithful. Especially in having since read the manga I've come to really appreciate that first season as being a legitimately challenging and transformative adaptation full of love for the source material as well as the works that inspired Fujimoto to begin with. In that sense this movie feels like a regression, it's just so safe. Here's a flashy big budget Chainsaw Man action movie. We kicked that old director for being a little too ambitious, and while we're at it the character designs lost some of their realism and are more a 1:1 conversion of Fujimoto's art. It's not not impressive I can't stress enough that this was a good movie, it's just not one I can really confidently call all that interesting. That's all.
your ex was in here yesterday doing exactly the same thing
