The plan to not get too drunk this year, like how he had last year, and keep better control over himself was already way, way over. There was just no way he could be around these people and not smash every cocktail or mixed alcohol drink that came within a five foot radius. And since he kept a close distance to the bar area..... It wasn't his fault though! Not his fault that people kept coming up to him, wanting to talk about "old times" and how "funny" everything had been, like wasn't it just hilarious that one "joke" that was played on him-- and down the hatch Seunghyun would keep sending his drinks.

A drunken stupor was inevitable.

The worst of it came when he looked across the room and spotted someone who brought him a shit-ton of regret, not just for his own actions but for the way the relationship had worked out since, because he did feel bad about their deteriorated state and he did feel bad that they couldn't be friends anymore, but at the same time, that made him angry. Why couldn't he ever get to be mad? Why couldn't he ever just once get to have his thoughts and feelings expressed through violence? Everyone else got that chance, but not him?

He left a conversation midway through, put his drink down (somewhere, he didn't even bother to look) and marched right on over to where June was. "Look okay!" he began, as though the argument had already started inside his head... which it sort of had. "I hate this! I don’t like being this awkward with people that I feel like we could have been friends except that you went ape-shit on me after your boyfriend went ape-shit on me and the whole goddamn world went ape-shit on me, and everybody else gets forgiveness and stuff, but not me, and I don’t think that's fair!!"

The party danced around him, with people rekindling lost friendships and flirting with relationships years past. Many of them had changed - some physically, most others he suspected were faking. It hadn’t been nearly long enough for most of them to go through anything significant, or so he assumed given that they weren’t all that different underneath their masks. But it was all still the same at the very end of it, everyone was trying to be something else and pretending that life was so much better than it was. If only so they could feel superior for a night.

Sehun, on the other hand, had always held himself superior over the others. Most of them he’d tormented at some point or another, and he was at the receiving end of dozens of dirty looks. Though he had made a name for himself as a model and received plenty of fawning, he was still used to the looks of anger and disdain from those he’d made miserable. It hardly fazed him, and he simply pushed his way through the crowd to find someone more interesting.

A familiar face caught his eye a little ways away, and his gaze narrowed slightly. However, another few steps and a slight smile crossed his face, not having seen the follower of their group in a long while. Mostly, he’d been forced to cut so many ties when he’d ended up in rehab (again), and needed to recreate himself, and some of his friends fell by the wayside. “Hey, Junebug,” he cooed, as he finally approached. “I haven’t seen you in forever, I’m half surprised you showed up.”
