Unitarios y Mateo 28:19

My First Blog
What's up guys? It's ya boy Deezy. This is my first blog and I'm excited because I've always wanted to blog. Anyways, let's get to the nitty gritty shall we? For my first blog, I felt I had to go in on the subjects of sin, repentance, redemption, and temptation. Honestly, I recently came back from a dark place and I thank God He gripped me before I was lost forever in the fire. On the flip though, I hope the people who knew me as that man in school read this and understand that guy is a dead man. Well let's get to it now.
Sin. It's defined as 1) an offense against moral law 2) Transgression of the law of God or 3) Simply a fault in Merriam-Webster dictionary. As humans, we have tons of these "faults" that God looks at everyday and finds it offensive. And we commit new ones every single day!! You've probably heard about Adam and Eve right? Well if you haven't, to keep a long story short, God gave them an order and Satan convinced them to disobey Him, thus sin was born and ready to wreak havoc. It's a disease that everyone in the history is born with. Even as a Christian, there are times when sin creeps its way back into our lives due to small compromises that make us insensitive to sin. Just being AROUND sin too much is enough to desensitize someone to the truths of right and wrong. Using me as an example, yes me, I'm a man and I am easily deceived into believing a life contrary to God is a "good" life. It happens and sin kills and condemns us to hell. But this disease has a cure....
Redemption. It's defined as the act or process of redeeming, or "buying back." See, we let ourselves be bought by evil that fateful day in Eden when Adam and Eve committed the 1st sin. Humanity in itself couldn't pay the price to remove sin, and as long as we are in sin, we can only earn death. (Rom 6:23) But God is a loving God. He provided an escape to the seemingly inescapable fate we were headed towards, a second chance if you will. See, since we can't live a holy life as humans, we needed an example that can to be our sacrifice, and since God loves us so much, he gave us Jesus, His only Son, who lived a holy life and was sacrificed in order to redeem humanity (John 3:16). Amazing right? How could anyone love their enemies enough to die for them? But that's the truth of how he loves us. He gave us a way to repent and become holy and blameless in His sight so we could dwell with Him forever in Heaven.
Repentance. It's defined as the act of turning away from sin. I repeat, it's an ACT of TURNING from sin. Not apologizing. See, we can say sorry all we want to, but if we go back to the same things that bring God sorrow, we aren't truly repentant. It's a process of sensitizing yourself to sin and working to become more like Jesus. Trust me, if you are truly ready to let Him work in you and turn away from an evil life, He is mighty and faithful to save and He defeated sin and death on the cross and took away it's sting. (1 Cor 15:54-56) But just because it's lost its sting, doesn't mean it leaves you be.
Temptation. It's defined as being enticed to evil. If anyone knows about temptation, it's me. Like I said earlier, I was recently delivered from temptation I had given into, glory to God, and trust me, it's sneaky, and enticing, hard to pass up on, and is certainly a beast and a burden to everyone in the Church. The Devil knows what you came from and what sin you're most attracted to, but God will not give you more than you can bear. (1 Cor 10:13) It's crazy that we give in STILL though, but at the same time shows why we need Jesus. We're weak and love evil and wickedness. Christianity is definitely not for the weak. It's a commitment because everyday there are forces sent to turn you away from your decision to accept Jesus as savior, but stay encouraged in the faith brothers and sisters! Jesus IS enough!
So this is the Gospel in a nutshell. I pray that as you read this entry and you have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, you make the decision to do so because ain't no better place to be than in the righteousness of the Lord, Amen? I also pray that those who read this who know me from college parties and drunken nights understand that I am human and in need of God's grace as well. I'm not perfect nor do I claim to be. So bear with me when I'm in the flesh making dumb decisions and misrepresenting the goodness of Jesus. I pray you get a true taste and turn from that life as well.
God Bless! #28:19
19 Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty.
