It's kinda funny that the latim alphabet tilde (õ) looks identical to the greek alphabet circumflex accent (ῶ), even though they have no relation to each other.

How is the G in "madoka magica" supposed to be pronounced? I know the G in "puella magi" is pronounced like /g/ since that's how the G in latin is always pronounced, but is "magica" in Portuguese or Japanese or what?

disclaimer that i'm not super good at linguistics or pronunciations but! in Japanese i usually hear "magica" pronounced as "mag-ee-cah" whereas in English it seems to be "magic-ah"? i'm not really sure which one is "correct" though...

although I did base my username somewhat on how my actual name sounds, but just one character less and with a completely different second character

Do you think things would be better for Nepal if Sikkim was still independent? So you wouldn't be totally surrounded by two giants

I'm not the best person to answer this so take everything with a grain of salt but, from what I know, Sikkim had border conflict with Nepal and Bhutan back in the days. Nepal was occupying some of Sikkim's western territory which was later ceded, along with large portions of our southern plains, to the East India Company. If Sikkim was still an independent entity, it is difficult to say if Nepal and Sikkim would have a friendly relationship. Whether things would be better for both Nepal and Sikkim would be entirely contingent on both's ability to resolve territorial and ethnic disputes, which would be unlikely given how the polarizing presence of two superpowers would act against that. It would add another landlocked variable to an already tricky regional politics.

What idiotic netflix documentary? I'm curious now

it's been a couple of years since I had to watch it for a class, so don't ask me for details, but I remember it missing the mark by a long shot, mostly going into like "phone addiction" hysteria and not delving much deeper than that - the only great thing is that it brought attention to just how much social media profiles users

Chapter 156 of the manhwa seems like they are finally taking the story seriously again, so that's good. Sorry I haven't seen your posts for months but you complained a lot about them diminishing the story for the sake of a few cheap laughs

yeah that's good! i'm glad for them, it only took them *checks notes* 3/4 of the plot to start taking the story seriously but at least they got there!

and yeah that's one of my biggest complaints, i don't enjoy the tone and humor lhm and khs decided to use for the adaptation, but honestly that has been seriously sidelined by the massive changes they've done to the plot. they don't really seem interested in being faithful to the novel, which is. a choice. but one they're completely allowed to make. just like my choice to no longer read the manhwa at all <3 for the sake of my mental health <33
