- i am a communist and a marxist-leninist, many of my views expressed here will reflect that

- i do not agree with the mass amounts of anti-china propaganda out there and will not tolerate any sinophobic bullshit, take that shit elsewhere

- i am a trans dude who finds the concept of transandrophobia useful and will not tolerate any gender essentialism, i’m not your self-flagellating token trans guy

- i don’t do callouts

- i don’t do purity politics around here, i’m not your unproblematic fave

- this is still my personal blog and thus i treat it like my own house. if you follow me, you are a guest in my house

You hear a lot about the idea that people's attention spans are supposedly getting worse because of instant dopamine for short form videos specifically (which I'm not really sure i believe is true) or generally that people don't want to listen to something for more than 5 seconds but honestly a lot of videos DO lag on for storytimes or whatever because the videos are usually timed for the algorithm & engagement so you can tell when they're dragging it on to get more views. And I hate that. Get to the point or I'm leaving

The "gambling" reward pathway aka the inconsistent reward pathway literally evolved for things like this! Foraging! Trying new recipes! Experimenting with a new technique while crafting! Any essential human activity that might get you something useful, but also might just make some trash.

There is nothing inherently unhealthy about that reward feeling! You can have that same feeling in a healthy way!!!! Corporations are taking advantage of it for profit, don't let them!!!!!!

Mushroom hunting! Birding! Trying a new technique in a craft you're already familiar with! Mixing random sauces in your fridge to see if any of them taste good!!!
