for those of you who are into hip hop whatsoever and have never seen the good life documentary, "this is the good life: how the west was one", it's now on netflix and i highly recommend you check it out. easily one of the best music related documentaries i've ever seen. it's a really interesting and insightful look into what the alternative/underground hip hop scene in LA was like in the 80s & 90s and what the atmosphere was like at the good life, as well as touching on the influence that the good life had on other artists.  there's tons of great footage/interviews from a bunch of the good life artists including myka 9, P.E.A.C.E, aceyalone, busdriver, 2mex, abstract rude, chali 2na, pigeon john, cut chemist, and others..  i had only heard and read about bits and pieces of these stories over the years but it's nice to hear it directly from those who were involved and this documentary filled in a lot of those blanks and helped to connect the dots. if any of that sounds interesting, you should definitely give it a watch when you get the chance.
