I assume he means more than just the fact that he doesn’t age like Khun, Endorsi, Anaak, etc.
You were happy. You don’t know for a fact that Rachel was happy being with you. And that also doesn’t mean that you would be happy again.
He needs the power to hold onto Rachel, and that power might be affecting his mind so he refuses to let go of her so he needs the power more. It’s a cycle.
