30 Days of Doctor Who 4: Favorite Villain - The Master (and here, have some chameleon circuit)
I've seen barely anything of classic Who Masters, but Simm alone made him one of my favorite characters - and that was before I saw End of Time! In Utopia, Sound of Drums, and Last of the Time Lords I was far more interested in his schemes and caught up in his enthusiasm than what the Doctor was doing (which is a first). He is having fun doing what he is best at, but at the same time, you can see how much the drumbeat of insanity is constantly driving him onward. The possibility of his return at the end was exciting, but I ended up forgetting him and focusing back on the main characters.
In about two hours, he managed to drag me through joy ("They're real!"), laughter (the Master race), terror (AHH HE'S A SKULL AGAIN), and tears ("You did this to me!"). It's the only time this show has managed to make me cry so far (yes, even Doomsday didn't) and the first time in years that a character has made me cry without dying. Well, of course, then he had to die after that and leave me sadder than I already was...but knowing him, he'll probably come back. Hopefully as Simm. (Please, let it be Simm...)
