Bruce, lost in his grief over his second son, agrees to take on a third, temporary Robin to help him recover. He was supposed to keep his distance, he wasn't supposed to know or care about this nameless boy. But these children had a way of surprising him.

MY OPINION Opinion: I am a little obsessed with this. Seriously. I’ve read it twice since I found it earlier this week and listened to the podfic too, I absolutely love the way Tim in particular is characterized in this. I love how Bruce repeatedly messes up as he navigates his way through his grief. I love how he tries to fix it.

Friday Fic promo, because I've decided that's now a thing. Every Friday that I remember, I'll drag an older fic out of my archives and fling it at you all with joyful abandon. This one is a Rivers of London casefic set some time after Broken Homes with spoilers through to that point, featuring David Mellenby (you may remember him, he's canonically dead and I don't care).

Someone is stealing computer equipment from across London, and no one can work out who or, for that matter, why. With alarm bells ringing, the legendary Flying Squad turn to Peter for help, and Peter turns to Dr David Mellenby, an astrophysicist who knows rather more about magic than Peter expected. In an investigation that criss crosses the capital, but especially the river, Peter learns more than he ever wanted to about quantum, cryptocurrencies, and just what it takes to destroy a computer.

Eids and Hero are 110% straight but consider an AU where EidoHero exists and is real. I’m not fucking insane or alone, think about it. Pros: our favorite schlubby loser finally gets some love, pre-canon shenanigans, a chill relationship between two experienced capes with no impending catastrophe, rivalry (tinker bullshit vs space whale magic), friends to lovers, media circus, butterflies that may or may not affect the Siberian Incident and by extension all of canon. Cons: nothing. Consider EidoHero.

On the topic of wormships, Clockroach is good, Dragonlayer is perfect, and Coil/Piggot would be very, very interesting.
