Lando is the one to break him out of his stupor, “Gonna get the 3rd championship this year, you think?”

“I know,” he says, rolling his eyes, “Unless Checo decides to strap a bomb to my car.”

It gets Lando and Oscar to laugh. He tries to not make it obvious that he’s breathing deep in an attempt to catch more of Oscar’s scent. With so many people in a club, so few scent patches, it’s hard. Still, he thinks he smells the smallest amount of lavender and chocolate.

Max is almost certain he’s never going to forget the way that Oscar smells, the way that he laughs, the way he fucking breaths even.

They talk, casual, fun, like normal coworkers would, except that they’re not working office jobs and this is technically fraternizing with the competition. In a weird twist, Max isn’t even all that upset he doesn’t end the night in between someone’s legs.

If anything, he’s more upset at the realization he has, staring at the blank ceiling of his hotel room in the early morning hours.

Oscar Piastri is an unmated omega, and Max wants to change that.

I have this idea.... of kimi wanting to find max a mate, because he thinks max really deserves an alpha who takes care of him, and loves him and kimi has a damn mission because if max won't get an alpha for himself he will!

he makes a list, evaluates all the alphas on the grid, he takes it dead serious. max doesn't know why is kimi suddenly asking him about charles and esteban and lewis, it's strange but whatever that's just kimi being kimi. and that's when kimi discovers his mortal enemy: oscar piastri. because while max and oscar may not spend that much time together on camera, they are always around each other otherwise and it's driving kimi insane!!

whenener he tries to scheme a date together with charles for max, or a COD and FIFA match with esteban max always says no because he has something planned with oscar! he is seriously going insane, who does piastri think he is? and while kimi thinks he is the next reincarnation of james bond, he isn't subtle at all, almost everyone on the grid knows about his plan more or less, including oscar and max.

they are both omegas, have been dating since australia 2025, and only close friends know. oscar finds it very amusing to see kimi trying to curse him with his eyes or try to worm his way around max to get him away. so when monaco happened this year and he got an invite to max's home he thinks this is his chance! he will present the top 3 alpha he has carefully chosen, he will get an alpha for max. and then he arrives and damn oscar piastri is there, in max's shirt and stupid shorts and smelling like max so much kimi can't even distinguish oscar's scent from max's. this is a disaster, max will die as a bachelor and it's piastri's fault.

it's max who shows mercy for kimi, after spending a few hours in their home and visiby fighting the urge not to combust or jump on oscar who spends his time glued to max's side, scenting his neck and wrist. safe to say, kimi is fighting his shock for a whole week. max teases him about it to no end, and he guesses, piastri is much better than the other alphas kimi chose. he can approve this
