Peter and I set up our birth space this week ❤ We got the fairy light curtain to be the backdrop of our wedding ceremony last year, and I'm so happy we get to reuse it for the birth of our baby. Our midwife is lending us the birth pool and my sister let me borrow her aromatherpy diffuser - I got Bergamot essential oil to put in it. Peter is very concerned about the carpets in our rental house so has lined this room with tarps amd then put sheets and towels over the top. I'm worried how dirty the towels are all going to be by the time the birth happens with us walking on them, so will probably put them through the wash before then. We have put double sheets and waterproof mattress protectors on the bed which should make life easy if my waters break overnight. I got the baby seat installed in the car this week too finally! So now we play the waiting game. Im 39+5, so potentially still a week or more to go, but hoping he will be here sooner rather than later. I've been having often but random braxton hicks contractions every day since I hit 39 weeks. No other signs of labour yet. Baby is still kicking and moving, and at last appointment the midwife said he was in the perfect position for birth and I dont think he has moved from there! Last thing, how freaking cute and serene is Finley Whippet in his cave bed sleeping under the fairy lights? Love him so much 😍
