No. 7 of my Top 10 3rd-Party Transformers of 2018: Unique Toys Archimonde, their take on MP Brawl! Once again, I’m not in for the whole combiner (those armbots—uggh), but the strength of the engineering and sculpt etc. sold me on this one. The transformation is interesting, and yields two very solid modes, with no hollow limbs or bits anywhere to be found—as all TFs should ideally be! I’m still waiting for and looking forward to their Swindle (Ghaz’ranka, which I missed the first time around).

Part 2 of my No. 4 pick for Top 10 3rd-Party Transformers of 2018: Maketoys Thunder Manus with Divine Armor, their take on God Ginrai! Here is the Thunder Manus (Super Ginrai aka Powermaster Optimus Prime) mode, as well as the core legends-size Manus (Optimus Prime) and Powermaster figure. Manus himself is a bit kibbly, but I can overlook that given the size, detail, and integration. See previous post for God Ginrai combined mode and alt.

My No. 4 pick for Top 10 3rd-Party Transformers of 2018 has so much play value I have to split it into 2 posts: Maketoys Thunder Manus with Divine Armor, their take on God Ginrai! Here we have the fully combined God Ginrai form of Super Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus Prime) plus Godbomber, and the alt modes plus Powermaster figure. I dig Maketoys’ own stylized takes on this, as well as their Striker Manus (looking forward to the combined form with Buster Stealthwing not-Jetwing). Though I wish this set had come with what is now their stand-alone Godbomber, instead of this armor which doesn’t have a robot mode.

A few people have posted fan combined modes for these Titans Return moldmates (@geek75sg on IG has some great ones)—here’s my version of ‘Mishappy’ = Misfire + Triggerhappy. If they were reversed, it would be ‘Triggerfire.’ You can see Titan Master Aimless (what an awful moniker) piloting in the cockpit…since that’s better than him manning the guns. The guns at front center, by the way, are just serving as a stand—they aren’t attached.

I think I prefer this to how POTP Dreadwing looks, frankly.

My recent favorite bots, right out of the 1986 Transformers: the Movie! These are all from third parties: Arcee by Mastermind Creations (aka Azalea), Hot Rod by Fans Toys (Hoodlum), and Optimus Prime by Transform Element (OP Leader).
