When they confirmed season 2 of ‘Are You sure?” But you haven’t even written the first episode to the season 1 on your fanfic series🤧
Guys this new promotion has been taking over my lifeeeeee(not really but I’m stresssssed yet very thankful for it haha) I haven’t even gotten to write chapter 6 but I’m gonna start this weekend, thank you all for your patience and support! I love each and every one of you!🫶🏻
I really love your Are You Sure series! I was wondering what was BTS first impression of YN? After they’ve gotten close with her over time, who’s really overprotective of her?
Omg I love this question~! You’re definitely going to see in future chapters flashbacks of them first meeting with the members first impressions (I won’t spoil too much but let’s just say they weren’t too sure about her at first!) or maybe drabbles??? Lmk what yall prefer!
Overall, I think they’re all protective of her but I would say (besides Jungkook obviously lol) Jin and Namjoon are the most protective of her. They have the mom and dad vibes going on and they see her as their little sister that they have to take care of even tho she’s technically in charge of them when it comes to being in the dance studio.
Flashbacks IN chapters or Drabble’s?

'I'm Sure' | One - The Pitch
Summary: When Y/n, a young choreographer, began working with Halsey at just seventeen, she never imagined it would lead her across the globe. Her journey with BTS began in 2018 on the set of 'Boy With Luv,' where she acted as the creative bridge between two worlds. What started as temporary projects turned into a lifelong bond, eventually leading BigHit to offer her a full-time position working as the boys' lead choreographer.
Now, as the members begin their solo careers and prepare for military enlistment, the stakes have never been higher. Y/n is tasked with her most ambitious project yet: Creating the choreography and performance identity for Jungkook’s global solo debut. What begins as late nights perfecting choreography and playful banter turns into quiet moments that blur the line between professionalism and something much more personal.
Their journey unfolds alongside Jungkook and Jimin’s newest travel show, Are You Sure?!, where Y/n travels with the Busan Brothers through the heat of a New York summer, the coastal winds of Jeju, and the deep snows of Sapporo.
Between the raw, unfiltered footage of life on the road and the quiet vulnerability that lingers after the cameras finally stop rolling, the show becomes the backdrop for Y/n and Jungkook’s evolving story.
As the seasons shift, they are pulled closer through creative passion, industry jealousy, and the looming shadow of distance. Amidst the chaos of global stardom and the quiet fear of a long goodbye, they are forced to make a choice only they can answer: Are they truly sure about each other, no matter what the world might say?
Word count: 8.1k
Warnings: Jimin and Taehyung have zero chill, alcohol consumption, Jungkook's Weverse live chaos, and of course, slowww burn, that's about it.

February 2023 — HYBE Building, Seoul
The mirrors in Practice Room A were completely fogged over.
It was a physical testament to the last four hours of repetitive, grueling movement. The air was thick and humid, with a lingering smell of the industrial floor cleaner and sweat. Even the state-of-the-art ventilation system couldn't keep up with the sheer kinetic energy of thirty backup dancers circling a central figure like a human hurricane.
"Again," you said, your voice cutting through the silence that followed after the song ended.
Compared to five years ago, you weren't standing in the shadows anymore. Now at twenty-three, you were the youngest in the room, but you stood center-stage with an authority that defied your age. Dressed in oversized green cargo pants and a fitted blue tank, you looked at Jimin, who was doubled over with his hands on his knees, his chest heaving. His long black hair was soaked, clinging to his forehead in jagged streaks.
"Y/n-ah," he panted, a playful but exhausted pout forming on his lips. "I think my legs have turned into jelly. Are you trying to break me before we film the music video?"
"I'm trying to make sure your formation doesn't look like a tangled mess on camera," you countered, though you softened your expression, walking over to hand him a towel and water. "The transition from the inner circle to the outer ring is still snagging. You’re hitting the counts perfectly, but the dancers are reacting to your shoulder instead of your feet. You need to lead with your hips, Jimin."
Jimin straightened up, wiping his face and nodding seriously.
Over the years, your dynamic with the boys had evolved into a profound professional respect. Though Jimin still treats you like a precious little sister, you were technically in charge of him in this space.
He trusted your eye implicitly. He knew that if you said it was snagging, it was.
"Lead with my hips," he muttered, marking the move in slow motion. "Got it. One more time?"
"No," you said, checking your watch. "We’ve been at this since 8. If we do it again now, someone’s going to roll an ankle. Everyone! Take thirty! Clear the room and get some air!"
As the backup dancers shuffled out, murmuring thanks, Jimin collapsed onto the floor, sprawling out like a starfish. You sat down beside him, the cool floor a relief against your skin.
"Coffee?" you asked.
Jimin’s eyes popped open. "I’d kill for a latte right now."
—
The cafe was a small, quiet spot tucked away in an alley just a few blocks from the studio. It was the kind of place idols felt safe in: low lighting, deep booths, and a staff used to seeing the world's most famous faces hidden behind black masks and bucket hats.
You sat across from Jimin in a corner booth, the steam from your vanilla latte rising between you. The adrenaline was beginning to fade, replaced by the month's quiet, heavy reality.
January. The start of a year that felt like a countdown.
Jimin was uncharacteristically quiet, staring into his own latte. He looked older in this light—less like the shimmering popstar and more like the man who had just watched his oldest hyung, Seokjin, walk into a military camp a few weeks prior.
"It feels real now, doesn't it?" Jimin said suddenly, his voice low.
You didn't need him to clarify. "The enlistment."
He nodded, leaning back against the leather cushion. "Seeing Jin-hyung go... it changed things. We’ve talked about it for years, but now the clock is actually ticking. December is going to be here before I can even finish this album."
He looked out the window at the gray skyline of Seoul. "I don't want to just work until the day I have to shave my head, Y/n. I’ve realized I want to make the most of the time we have left. Not just for the fans, but for us."
You watched him, sensing a shift in his energy. "What are you thinking, Jiminie?"
"I want to go on a trip. No! A few trips," he said, his eyes snapping back to yours with a sudden, bright intensity. "Me, Jungkook, and you. Maybe even some of the other guys. We’ll go to the States, maybe Jeju, maybe Japan. Just us being messy, getting lost, and eating too much food." He pauses before finishing, “I’m also thinking we film it. Make a travel series out of it to share with the Army.”
You blinked, surprised by the scale of it. "A travel show? Jimin, your solo debut is in two months. Jungkook is knee-deep in his own recordings, preparing his debut. How would we even—"
"We'll make time," he insisted, leaning over the table. "I already mentioned it to our producers. They love the concept. But it's not just about the show. I want us to have these memories to look back on when we're in the barracks. I want to spend that time with my best friends."
He reached across the table, squeezing your hand briefly. "I want you there. Not just as our choreographer, but as our friend. I want the world to see the girl who’s been the backbone of our stages for the past five years, even if it's just from the corner of the frame."
You thought about the chaos of the last five years: the late nights, the VMAs, the quiet studio sessions that always lasted an hour longer than they should. You thought about the looming December deadline.
But you also thought about the risk. Being on camera with them should have worried you more than it did. You’d already had your fair share of scandals with the group, and while the intensity had died down after the first three years, you weren't naive. You knew that once this show started, and once you began working one-on-one with them for their solo debuts, the skepticism would return.
In this industry, you’d learned that it all depended on how you reacted. Most of the time, ignoring the noise was the best approach, unless things reached a breaking point and the company had to step in. You remembered vividly when they’d had to do just that for your 21st birthday.
You had gone to a club with Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook, and a couple of their own friends to celebrate, and a single photo had nearly set the internet in a frenzy. It was a shot of you and Jimin hugging, but from a specific, blurry angle, it looked as though you were kissing. It hadn't happened, of course, but the fallout was massive. The company had been forced to release a statement alongside you and Jimin to clear the air.
Despite that history, the idea of being on camera didn't feel threatening because of who was asking. You weren’t shocked by his suggestion; in fact, it was the most "Jimin" thing he could have possibly thought of.
That was the kind of person he was. He had this rare, empathetic heart that beat for the fans, but bled for his members. All the boys did in their own way. He knew that for Jungkook and himself, enlistment didn't just mean a pause in a career; it meant being away from the only home they’d both known for years, even if they were together for it.
It was one of the things you admired most about him: this relentless drive to protect their happiness and preserve their memories, as if they were precious glass. He saw the burnout before it happened. He saw the sadness before it reached his eyes.
And then there was Jungkook. You know exactly why Jimin was pushing this so hard.
Jungkook was the type to run until his engine gave out, a man who viewed "rest" as a foreign concept and a distraction from perfection.
He rarely took breaks, if ever. He never just sat with the sunset unless someone told him to. Jimin wasn't just asking for a break; he staged a rescue mission for Jungkook’s peace of mind.
"Jungkook knows?" you asked softly.
“Not yet.” Jimin’s grin returned; sly, cat-like, and full of the mischief that usually preceded a headache for the management team and you. "That’s where you come in."
You blinked, a sense of dread pooling in your stomach. "What do you mean, ‘that’s where I come in’?"
"Leverage," Jimin confirmed, leaning over the table with a spark in his eyes. "Look, if I ask Jungkook to film a travel show, he’ll give me that look, where he pretends he didn't hear me or tell me he’d rather focus on his schedule. But if you ask him? He’ll be packing his bags before you finish the sentence."
You let out a dry, incredulous laugh, shaking your head. "That is completely false. He listens to me in the studio because he has to; I’m the choreographer. That’s the whole point!"
"Y/n-ah," Jimin said, his voice dripping with playful patronization. "Don't be so naive. He does everything you tell him to."
"Because I'm your lead!" you argued, though you felt the tips of your ears heat up. You quickly tried to pivot to the logistics to kill the topic. "Besides, even if I did ask, his schedule is a nightmare. His campaigns and solo debut are starting up soon, and it could interfere with the dates."
You tried to reason with him, knowing better than anyone how hard Jungkook had been working. He was currently in LA, pouring his soul into the recording of his debut song for July, while you were here in Seoul finishing the final touches on Jimin's Set Me Free Pt. 2 performance.
Jimin waved a dismissive hand. "I already talked it over with our managers. There are some breaks in between his shows that can be arranged for the trips. AND we can do them sporadically; it doesn’t have to be all at once!"
You tilted your head, uncertain. Why me? The question echoed in your mind. You weren’t part of the group. You weren’t a face millions tuned in for. You were the girl behind the mirrors, the shadow behind the main performer(s), counting beats and drilling steps until your throat was raw. While they were on stage, you were the blur backstage watching your work unfold, not the one fans screamed for.
"Okay, but..." you hesitated, "why me? I'm not part of the group, Jiminie. I'm staff."
"Y/n, you’ve been part of our little family for years now," Jimin said simply. His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. "It would feel wrong not to have you with us, especially before we leave. You deserve this vacation just as much as we do."
He watched you for a beat, letting the weight of the word family sink in. Then, his grin returned. "....And, like I said. Leverage."
That was the thing about Jimin; he never had to try too hard. He could disarm you with a single look, tease you until you were ready to throttle him, and then fold you into the kind of hug that made the world stop spinning. And he wasn’t wrong, you’ve always been go, go, go since being with them, that you haven’t gone on a vacation in a long time. It was definitely deserved and needed. Even if it meant keeping the two Busan brothers in check.
You had slipped into this rhythm easily, almost from the start back in 2020. He had been the first one in the group to truly break through your professional nerves.
You were young, female, and foreign—a triple threat for skepticism in a high-stakes industry. You’d walk into rehearsals with your notebook and a rigid posture, ready to be the professional Son saw you as. But Jimin? He saw right through your armor.
He started small. It was a lingering glance in the mirror when you were frustrated, followed by a wink that broke your concentration. Then came the nicknames. He’d wait until a high-tension moment—when you were about to give a note on his posture, and hit you with a soft, teasing, "Yes, Ma'am," or a playful, "Is Y/n-ah going to scold me today?"
He was the one who showed you that working with them would be fun. He’d pull you into the "Busan Brother" chaos, often using you as a shield when he and Jungkook were bickering, or dragging you with Jungkook and Taehyung out for late-night street food when they could see your shoulders knotting with stress. He’d become your unofficial big brother, the one who made sure you weren't just the 'shadow' but a person who laughed until she couldn't breathe.
"You're a menace," you muttered, though the corner of your mouth twitched upward.
"I'm a genius," he corrected, tapping his temple. "So, when Jungkook gets back from LA next week, you're the one pulling him aside. Deal?"
You looked at the steam rising from your mug, thinking of Jungkook’s intense focus and the way he’d look at you; those round, wide, expectant eyes. If you suggested a vacation in the middle of his biggest career milestone, you’re not sure if what you say would entice him to take the bait.
"Deal," you sighed, defeated by the crescent-moon smile across from you. "But if he gets annoyed, I'm telling him it was your idea."
"He won't get annoyed with you," Jimin sang, looking far too pleased with himself. "He physically can't… Besides, aren’t you heading over to his place tonight to check on Bam? Call him then. It’s quieter. More... persuasive.”
You swatted at his arm, but he was right. Since Jungkook had left for LA, you’d been stopping by his house to help with taking care of Bam. It was a task you loved; a rare moment of peace away from the high-pressure walls of the studio.
“I’m not using his dog to persuade him to do this, Jimin.”
“I wasn’t talking about Bam- ow! Stop hitting me!”
“I will when you stop saying silly things!” You take a final sip of your coffee before standing up and pulling your mask back over your face. “Come on, break’s over. We have to go back and rehearse more.”
“Ughhhh,” Jimin groaned, the sound vibrating against the table as he slowly peeled himself out of the booth. “I’m starting to think you and Director Son-nim are the same person.”
“I’m just doing my job,” you countered, though you couldn't help the small smile tugging at your lips as you watched him stretch his sore muscles. “And my job says you still have thirty minutes of floor-work to clean up before we call it a day.”
“Fine, fine,” he grumbled, though he fell into step beside you as you exited the quiet cafe. The biting Seoul wind hit you both, but the conversation had left a strange warmth in your chest.
As you walked back toward the towering glass silhouette of the building, Jimin bumped his shoulder against yours, his voice dropping the teasing tone for something more sincere. “He really will say yes if it’s you, you know. It’s not about leverage. It’s just... It's you.”
You didn't answer, instead focusing on the rhythm of your footsteps on the pavement. You didn’t know what he meant, and that was the strangest part.
By the time you reached the elevator and the doors hissed shut, the plan was set. You were going to call Jungkook tonight, you were going to go on those trips, and you were going to try your absolute best not to let Jimin’s words affect how much your heart was starting to race.
—
"Bammie!" you called out, your voice a gentle lilt in the stillness of Jungkook’s house as you entered.
The heavy silence of the apartment was broken only by the faint hum of the city outside. You stood in the foyer, the soft click of the door lock echoing throughout the house. His security system is already armed again.
A split second later, the frantic, rhythmic skritch-skritch-skritch of claws on the hardwood approached at high speed.
A massive, muscular silhouette rounded the corner, ears flopping and tail whipping with enough force to bruise.
Bam was a far cry from the clumsy puppy who once tripped over his own paws in the practice room; now, he was a majestic, fully-grown Doberman that commanded the space.
But as he reached you, all that power melted into a lean. He pressed his entire weight against your legs, his head reaching to your waist as he huffed a breath of recognition.
"Hey, big guy," you whispered, dropping your bag to bury your hands in his brown fur. "Did you miss me?"
He nudged your hand with a wet nose, guiding you toward the oversized living room sofa. As you settled in, Bam didn't hesitate to reclaim his spot, resting his heavy chin on your thigh and watching you with those deep, soulful eyes.
It was still surreal how much space this dog had taken up in your life and your heart in such a short time.
When you first met him, he was just a puppy with paws he hadn't yet grown into and ears that seemed to have a mind of their own.
You remembered the day Jungkook had practically smuggled the puppy into the practice room, hiding him in his oversized jacket like a precious secret. He had called you over with a frantic, excited whisper. When he unzipped the jacket, a tiny, chocolate-brown face with curious eyes popped out, sniffing the air tentatively.
"His name is Bam," Jungkook had beamed, looking more like a proud kid than a global popstar.
While the other members had crowded around making loud noises that sent the puppy retreating back into the safety of the jacket, you had simply sat on the floor and extended a hand. Bam had tumbled out of the fabric, tripped over his own front legs, and crawled right into your lap, falling asleep against your stomach within seconds.
"Well," Jungkook had mused, reaching down to pet the puppy's velvet ears, his fingers brushing against your own. "I guess he’s already chosen his favorite."
Since then, you and Bam formed a close bond. Whenever Jungkook brought him to the studio, or when you and the boys visited his house, he always leaned towards you over the 6 of you.
From that day on, you were the only person Jungkook trusted to watch him when the handlers or his family weren't available. It was in this quiet, intimate space, surrounded by Jungkook’s scent and the steady breathing of his most loyal companion, that you finally pulled out your phone.
You usually call Jungkook so he can see Bam. It had become a ritual whenever he had to travel overseas; a way to bridge the gap between his high-pressure recording sessions and the quiet life he temporarily left behind in Seoul.
You couldn’t help but notice how much the two of them were alike. They both had this intense, focused energy when they were doing something, but the second they were around people they were comfortable with, they became soft, needy, and shamelessly affectionate. They were both loyal to a fault and surprisingly sensitive under all that strength.
Based on the last flurry of messages in your group chat with him, Jimin, and Tae, he was currently stuck at the airport on a layover, waiting to come home.
He sent you a separate text from them.
Koo🍪 (6:16 PM): How’s everything going? Bammie behaving for you?
You smile at the text before opening your camera app and getting Bam’s attention to look at the lens, “Bammie! Say cheese for appa!”
The doberman sits up from his position and leans toward you, giving your face a few licks causing you to giggle as you take a few photos before sending one to his owner.
(6:18 PM): *Attached Image* He’s doing so good! Missing his appa!
Koo🍪 (6:20 PM): Good boy!
(6:21 PM): How’s the layover?
Koo🍪 (6:21 PM): Boring. Currently sitting in a conference room until its time to go?
Koo🍪 (6:21 PM): Up to ft?
(6:21 PM): Sure!
You hit the FaceTime button, and it didn't even finish the first ring before the screen flickered to life.
Jungkook’s face filled the display, well, part of it anyway. His long, dark hair was partially covered by his hat but some had fallen over his eyes, and as he shifted to prop the phone on the table he was sitting at. He moved his mask to be tucked under his chin, the harsh lighting of the room caught the glint of his lip ring. Even through the grainy lens of the camera, the physical transformation he’d undergone since 2019 was staggering.
Back then, he was the shy twenty-one-year-old, doe-eyed boy in the wine-colored jacket that you met. Now, at twenty-five, he had blossomed into a man who wore his evolution on his skin. You thought about how much the whole group had shifted in these five years; it wasn't just him.
However, his was more distinct, more visceral; a metamorphosis that was impossible to ignore. His black T-shirt sleeve was pushed up, revealing his full tattoo sleeve. You remembered his journey with ink first began, shortly after you met; it started with small, meaningful pieces on his hand: "ARMY," a crown, a tiny purple heart, but quickly grew into a sprawling masterpiece of self-expression.
Your eyes traced the familiar ink you’d seen him add over the years: the large tiger lily blooming on his forearm, the intricate clock, and the bold "Winners Never Quit" lettering. He had even gone back to have work refined, adding vibrant colors and deep shading that turned his arm into a living gallery of his life’s philosophy. To you, the ink suited him perfectly; it was a map of his growth.
Along with the tattoos came the piercings. You’d been there for the ear hoops and the lip ring, but you still felt a small pang of nostalgia when you looked at his face and didn't see the eyebrow piercing he’d decided to retire last year. You’d been a little sad to see it go, and you knew you weren’t alone; Army had collectively mourned that era just as much as you had.
He was physically broader now, his shoulders wider from years of dedicated training, but the mental shift was what truly captivated you. He carried himself with a grounded, quiet confidence that replaced the frantic shyness of his teens.
You also evolved in your position in the last few years. You had grown from an intimidated assistant into a Lead who commanded respect. You had found your own voice—and your own ink.
Unlike his bold gallery, your evolution was more subtle. You had a small, bright red Ladybug behind your ear, matching Halsey, to symbolize your friendship even after you finished your contract with her. On the inside of your pointer finger sat a tiny, hand-drawn Star. The inner curve of your right lower bicep featured three ethereal Butterflies in flight. Tucked away on your ribcage, close to your heart, was an intricate Sun and Moon cradled by swirling, dark clouds.
But your most significant piece was the one few ever saw: a large, elegant silhouette of a Dancer stretching across your back, her form merging into blooming flowers. It was a sprawling masterpiece of micro-realism that mirrored your own journey, proving that your passion has become your reality.
While he had become a living gallery of bold blackwork and intricate shading, you had become a study in fine lines and hidden meanings. He was the thunder, and you were the steady, guiding current.
“Y/n-ah...” he murmured, his voice thick with sleep, a low rasp that sounded far too intimate for a cross-continental call. He blinked slowly, trying to clear the hair from his eyes. “You look so comfy ugh I wish I was there.”
You laughed softly, “What the conference room doesn’t have leather sofas in there and a dog to keep you company?”
You tilted the phone down, and the second Bam’s large face appeared on the screen, Jungkook’s entire demeanor shifted. The tired, tattooed pop star vanished, replaced by the soft-hearted boy who would give the world to his dog.
“Bammie! My big boy!” Jungkook cooed, his face breaking into a wide, lopsided grin as he watched Bam nudge the screen with a wet nose.
As you watched them interact, you noticed the one thing Jungkook and Bam did exactly alike; a quirk you would never, ever tell him to his face. Whenever either of them got excited or overwhelmed with affection, they both did this tiny, subconscious "nose-scrunch" and an audible little huff. Bam did it when he wanted treats; Jungkook did it when he was laughing too hard or trying to act tough, even though you saw right through him. It was the most endearing thing you had ever seen between the two.
“He’s doing great, Jungkook,” you said, watching the way Jungkook’s expression softened. “Just misses his appa. He’s been moping half the evening until I finally sat down with him.”
“I miss him too,” Jungkook murmured, his dark eyes shifting from the dog back to you. “Ugh, I still have an hour before we board. Did you and Jimin-hyung stay at the studio late again?”
“Not tonight. He and I actually took a break and bothered Yoongi for a bit before Bada pulled me away to help her finalize a transition,” you said, feeling the weight of the ‘leverage’ Jimin had handed you. You took a breath, scratching Bam’s ears and avoiding Jungkook’s gaze. “Actually, Jiminie had a wild idea today.”
“Oh yeah? What’s going through that guy's head?” Jungkook asked with a light chuckle, shifting against the rolling chair.
“He had this idea about doing a travel series,” You said, the words tumbling out before you could overthink them. “A show featuring him, you, and me. He wants to visit different vacation spots before... well, before December.”
There was a long silence on the other end. You watched as the playful light in Jungkook’s eyes flickered, replaced by the heavy reality of the year ahead. Between his solo debut recordings in LA and his upcoming tour, his schedule was already a puzzle with too many pieces.
“A show? Y/n, I’m so drained,” he admitted, his voice dropping into that honest, vulnerable register he only used with a few people. “I have the album, the documentary, the tour... the last thing I want to do is be ‘on’ for another camera crew right now.”
You looked down at Bam, who let out a long, contented sigh against your thigh. “I know. I told him the timing was impossible. But he’s worried, Jungkook. He saw Jin-hyung leave, and he realized how little time you guys have left to just be yourselves. To be a family before the military.”
You took a shaky breath, meeting his gaze through the screen. “I think it would be good for me, too. I’ve spent five years watching you guys through a camera lens or a studio mirror. I’d really like to just... go somewhere with you guys. If you’re there, I know I’ll feel comfortable being on camera.”
Jungkook went silent, his gaze becoming intense and private even across the thousands of miles. The exhaustion seemed to take a backseat to something much more certain.
Jungkook went silent, leaning back into arms that are crossed on the table. His gaze became intense, searching yours even across the thousands of miles.
“You want me there?” he asked, his voice dropping to a low whisper.
“I do,” you admitted.
“Okay,” he said, the hesitation vanishing as quickly as a shadow in the sun.
“If you want to go, I’ll do it. If it’s the three of us... I’m in,” he repeated, the finality in his voice vibrating through the speaker. He pulled his beanie off, his hair falling into his eyes again as he grew more curious. “So, where is Jimin-ssi thinking of dragging us?”
“I’m not 100% sure. He mentioned a few spots—maybe in the States, or Jeju, even Japan,” you said, leaning your head back against the sofa cushions. “But I told him we could figure out the specifics once you’re actually back in Seoul, and we can sit down with the production team. You have enough on your plate right now.”
“Probably for the best,” he murmured. Then, his eyes narrowed slightly as he scrutinized your face through the screen. “Wait. It’s evening there. Have you eaten anything yet?”
You bit your lip, knowing that tone. “Not yet. I was going to head home after I finished up with Bam.”
“Y/N-ah,” he sighed, a look of mock-disappointment crossing his face. “Don’t wait. Just make whatever I have in the fridge. I stocked up before I left, and it’s just going to go to waste if someone doesn't eat it.”
“I feel bad raiding your kitchen, Jungkook,” you countered, glancing toward the sleek, dark cabinetry of his kitchen. “I’m here to watch Bam, not clear out your groceries.”
“Don’t feel bad. You’re doing me a huge favor by staying with him,” he insisted. “He’s a handful, even if he is being an angel for you right now.”
You looked down at Bam, who let out a low, happy huff at the mention of his name. “It’s not a favor if I love being here. And clearly, Bam isn't complaining.”
“Still. Eat something,” he commanded softly.
“I think I might just order takeout,” you said, a small smile playing on your lips. “I’ve been craving that spicy ramen from the place near the park for a while now. I’ll grab that.”
“The one with the extra garlic?” At your nod, he laughed. “Okay. Fine. But make sure you get the extra pork belly too. You need the energy.”
He stayed on for a few more minutes, yawning as the travel was getting to him. His manager came in letting him know it was time and he wrapped up the call with you, not before promising to text you when he landed. “See you soon. Tell Bammie I love him.”
“I will. Get some sleep on the plane, Koo.”
The screen went black, and the apartment's silence returned, though it felt lighter now. You stood up to stretch, but before you could even reach for your bag, your phone buzzed with a notification.
[Apple Pay: Koo🍪 sent you ₩20,000] Message: My treat. Get the extra toppings. 🍜
You stared at the screen, a huff of laughter escaping you. It was so typical of him; stubbornly caring, even from halfway across the world.
“Your dad is unbelievable,” you muttered, looking down at Bam, who was wagging his tail as if he knew exactly what had just happened. “Seriously, Bam. He’s a menace.”
You pulled up your messages and typed a quick reply.
(7:15 PM): I can pay for my own noodles!
His reply was almost instantaneous
Koo🍪 (7:16 PM): Too late. Enjoy the ramen, Gg.
You lightly cursed his name under your breath, a blush creeping up your neck at the nickname, and you were thankful he wasn't there to see it. It stood for Golden Girl, a nickname he had coined back when you first met and it stuck. While the rest of the world called him the "Golden Maknae," he had taken one look at your precision and your shared "Golden" work ethic and decided you were his counterpart.
The other members knew about it, of course, but they never used it. It was a sacred, quiet thing between the two of you, a verbal reminder of where your friendship started.
"Fine," you whispered to the empty room, looking at Bam. "Spicy ramen it is."
You pulled up the delivery app and ordered the spicy ramen with extra garlic and pork belly, setting the delivery address a few blocks away from his house. You decided it would be the perfect time to take Bam on a walk to get the delivery; he’d been cooped up most of the afternoon, and the cool evening air sounded like exactly what you both needed.
The thirty-minute walk was peaceful. Bam walked perfectly at your side, his muscular frame moving with a rhythmic grace that turned the heads of the few neighbors out for a stroll. When you reached the destination, the driver pulled up right on time, handed over the warm bag, and gave Bam a friendly pat on the head before driving off. With the scent of garlic and spice wafting from the bag, you led Bam back toward the house, your shared sanctuary for the night.
Once inside, you didn't even bother with the dining table. You set the ramen down on the low coffee table in the living room. You filled Bam’s food bowl and he ate along side you; the rich, spicy broth finally warming you up after the day's rehearsals and the crisp night walk.
The quiet of the apartment, the distant hum of the city, and the rhythmic breathing of the dog at your feet were like a lullaby.
After you finished eating and cleaned up, you only meant to close your eyes for a second while a variety show played at a low volume in the background. You tucked your feet under one of his plush grey throws, one hand resting on Bam’s neck, and before you could even think about the drive back to your own place, you were out.

2:00am
The heavy weight of the travel bags felt like lead on Jungkook’s shoulders as he punched the code into his front door. His eyes were burning from the fourteen-hour flight and a refusal to sleep until he was back in Seoul. He was ready to drop where he stood, his mind already visualizing the darkness of his bedroom.
But as the door hissed shut behind him, the silence of the apartment didn't feel empty.
He dropped his bags in the foyer and stepped into the living room, stopping short. The morning sun was cutting through the floor-to-ceiling windows in sharp, golden slats, illuminating a scene he hadn't expected to find.
You, buried under his favorite blanket, your hair splayed across the cushions in messy waves. And right beside you, guarding you even in his sleep, was Bam.
He noticed an empty ramen container on the coffee table and a small, tired smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
Bam was sprawled out next to her, his massive head resting on her hip. As Jungkook stepped closer, the dog’s tail gave a singular, lazy thump against the sofa. He didn't even get up to greet him; he just looked at Jungkook with one eye open.
“Hi, bammie,” Jungkook whispered, his voice a low, gravelly vibration in the quiet room. He gently patted the dog's head, watching as the Doberman leaned into the touch but refused to move his chin from your hip. Bam’s loyalty was unwavering, and in that moment, Jungkook wasn't sure who was watching whom.
Jungkook stood over her for a long moment, watching the steady rise and fall of your shoulders. You looked uncomfortable, neck bent at an awkward angle against the armrest. He knew you would wake up with a stiff neck if he left you like that.
He moved silently, setting his phone and keys on the table. Instead of waking you, he reached down, sliding one arm under your knees and the other behind your back.
He was quite strong, even before he started working out seriously years ago. Back then, he would have hesitated to do something like this, even with how light you are, as he worried about hurting you.
But now at twenty-five, he lifted you with an effortless grace that barely caused you to stir. He felt you instinctively tuck your face into the crook of his neck. Your warm breath hit his skin, and he let out a light huff, scrunching his nose at the feeling.
He carried you down the hallway, Bam following at his heels.
He passed his own bedroom and stopped at the spare room, the one always kept ready for the guys or for you whenever you stayed over too late for a safe drive home.
He used his foot to nudge the door open and gently laid you down on the cool linens. He took a moment to pull the comforter up to your chin, tucking the edges around you until you were a warm cocoon.
As he straightened up, his tattooed hand lingered for a second, his thumb grazing your temple to move a stray lock of hair.
"Sleep good, gg," he murmured, the nickname a soft secret in the dim light of the room.
As he started leaving the room, he called out to the Doberman still lingering by the bedside, “Come on, Bam.”
Normally, the dog would listen to him, but when it came to you, Bam had his own set of rules.
He didn't budge. Instead, he looked from Jungkook back to you, then hopped onto the foot of the bed with a heavy thud. He circled twice before dropping down, resting his chin on your ankles and giving Jungkook a look that clearly stated he wasn't going anywhere.
Jungkook let out a low, tired chuckle, shaking his head. "Fine. You stay, protector."
He left the door ajar before retreating to the kitchen.
He wasn't ready to sleep yet. The adrenaline of the trip and the quiet hum of the house kept him wired. He grabbed a beer from the freezer and chilled mug before heading to the living space. He decided to go Live on Weverse since he misses talking to the fans, despite not having permission from the company.
Quickly propping up his phone on the coffee table, he made sure to angel it away from the hallway just incase you woke up and made an appearance.
"Is this working?" he whispered, his voice a low, gravelly vibration. His long, dark hair was a chaotic nest of waves falling over his eyes as he rubbed his eye. "Have you been well, everyone? It’s been awhile, right?"
He watched as the comments from Armies came through, mainly noticing how long his hair has gotten.
“Technically, I shouldnt be doing a live broadcast on my own like this. But…”He trails off, looking down the hallway at the spare room door still left open a crack. “I haven’t been on insta often and haven’t really connected with you a lot.”
The one person he really wanted to talk to was sleeping down the hall, exhausted from the day, so he had resorted to this. It was a strange kind of substitute, but he couldn’t say that out loud.
‘What have you been up to? You’ve been so quiet’ a comment flashed by.
“Not much really. If I did something” He plays with his lip ring, “I would have shared it with you all but honestly, I’ve been really my own lately. There was even a time when I didn't leave the house for six days straight. I really just stay at home.”
He reached for a frosted mug from the freezer, the ice-cold glass clinking as he poured a beer. He obviously couldn’t share that he just came back from traveling from recording his debut song as that news was still months away. He wishes he could share it but he didn’t need to add fuel to the fire since he shouldn’t be live at all right now.
He leaned back, his eyes wandering to the hallway again. “I missed you a lot, too,” he murmured, though his voice held a softness that felt like it was intended for more than just the millions on the screen.
“I have to be quiet,” he warned, pressing a finger to his lips as Bam trotted into the frame, the dog’s claws clicking on the floor. “Someone is sleepy.”
He let the fans assume he meant Bam was finally settling down, but the truth sat heavy and warm in his chest. He started talking about Bam and how his training has gotten better in the past few months from being back from the training center. He showed some of his tricks and Bam listened to most of them but mainly just looked at jungkook lost. He played it off that it was cause he was tired and it was past his bed time but he knew he really only listened to you.
He pulled his microphone over, but instead of his usual powerful belt, he began to sing in a breathy, soulful register; an intimate lullaby meant to travel through the walls.
At one point, he caught a comment that made him pause: “Don’t ignore us!”
A soft, tired laugh escaped him. “Don’t ignore us… that’s cute. That’s my style.” It brought him back to one afternoon in the studio when you had grabbed his wrist, demanding his attention for a choreography note when he got distracted by something on his phone. “Jeon Jungkook, don’t ignore me!” He could still feel the light pressure of your hand on his skin.
The hour grew late, and the beer began to settle in. Suddenly, the comment section shifted as a familiar username appeared.
"Namjoon-hyung is here?" Jungkook’s face lit up, his "Golden Maknae" energy resurfacing instantly.
Namjoon’s comments started popping up, warm and supportive. “Jungkook-ah, you’re doing well.” “I’m watching your live.” Jungkook got soft then, his voice dropping into a sincere rasp. "Namjoon-hyung... he's my savior. My life would be 180 degrees different if I hadn't seen him and come to BigHit." He looked at the camera with wide, honest eyes. "I love you, RM. Be happy, okay? Let's all be happy."
But the sentimental moment didn't last long because Taehyung crashed the chat next.
“Why are you doing this so late? Go to sleep!” Taehyung’s comment flashed, followed quickly by: “Should we do an Instagram live together? Come over there.”
Jungkook let out a startled laugh. "Taehyung-ah? Instagram? Should we? Should we go be troublemakers?"
Eventually, the temptation to cause a little chaos won out.
The transition was a mess. He struggled with the interface, muttering about how he couldn't see the comments. When Taehyung finally joined the split-screen, the energy shifted instantly from a public broadcast to a private interrogation.
“I was about to close my eyes, then Namjoon-hyung messaged the group chat saying he was watching you,” Taehyung said, his voice deep and smooth. He adjusted his camera, his sharp eyes scanning Jungkook’s background. "You look... settled. The house is very quiet tonight, isn't it?"
“Very quiet,” Jungkook replied quickly, taking a pointed sip of his beer. “Bam is finally resting.”
Taehyung hummed, a knowing smirk touching his lips. He was one of the few who knew you had stayed over. "Just Bam? I thought maybe since you've been working so hard on the new choreo, you’d have some... artistic inspiration around to help you prep for the morning."
Jungkook cleared his throat, his eyes darting toward the hallway. "Hyung, be quiet. I'm just drinking alone. I was watching old videos."
"Ah, alone," Taehyung repeated, his tone dripping with mock-innocence. "Then why are you whispering, Jungkookie? You usually shout when you’re doing karaoke. It’s almost like you’re being a gentleman and making sure you don't disturb the atmosphere in the back of the house."
"Taehyung-ah," Jungkook warned, his voice dropping an octave as he nose-scrunched. "Bam is a light sleeper. I don't want to startle him."
"Right, 'Bam'," Taehyung chuckled, clearly enjoying the way Jungkook was squirming and constantly looking to the side. "Well, Sleep well, JK. And tell... 'Bam'... I said goodnight."
Jungkook ended the Instagram Live with a flustered wave, "Bye Instagram friends!"
The screen went black, and for a second, he just stared at his reflection in the dark glass, his heart hammering against his ribs. He looked toward the hallway, holding his breath, listening for any sign that the chaotic laughter from the phone had woken you up. The silence remained heavy and sweet, broken only by the faint, rhythmic huffing of Bam’s sleep-breathing.
He should have gone to bed. He was exhausted, his eyes were burning, and he had a health checkup in a few hours. But the "troublemaker" energy hadn't quite faded, and he wasn't ready to let go of the night just yet.
With a small, rebellious smirk, he switched back to Weverse.
"Hi! I'm back," he whispered, propping the phone up again, "Instagram is too frustrating. The comments move too slow, and I can't see anything. Weverse is better."
He settled back into his chair, the "rock life" resuming. He spent the next hour in a hazy, comfortable state, his voice dropping even lower than before. He sang a few more bars of a song, then stopped, looking at the camera with a dreamy, half-lidded expression.
He pushed up his sleeve, the living room light barely catching the intricate ink that spilled down his right arm.
"I've never really shown you my tattoos in detail," he murmured, tracing the "ARMY" across his knuckles. "I got this first. I wanted it where I could always see it. Because you are what I'm confident in."
He turned his arm, pointing to the clock nestled near his elbow. "The time I was born. 3:23... 3:25." He followed the lines of the ink with his thumb. "See? It’s connected to this microphone. And the musical note. It means I was destined to be a singer since birth."
He paused, his eyes drifting toward the hallway where the girl who had choreographed his most iconic stages was sleeping. He thought about the Ladybug behind her ear and the Dancer on her back—the hidden map of her own journey.
"People ask if I regret them," he said softly, his voice barely a whisper. "I have regrets, sure. I did some carelessly back then. But I won't remove them. To remove them would be like rejecting the past me. And that was still me."
He traced the snake on his forearm, explaining how it represented growth—molting away the old to become the new. It felt fitting for the Golden era, and for the way his relationship with you had shifted from professional to a close friendship he was grateful for.
"I'm sleepy, but I like being here like this more," he admitted, his voice a barely audible rasp. "I'm just being here with you."
He noticed a comment: 'You look like you have a story today.'
He laughed softly, brushing his long hair out of his face. "Do I? It’s a good story, then." He glanced toward the guest room one last time, a look of profound, quiet contentment settling over his features. "A very good story."
Finally, as the first hint of gray light began to touch the edges of his curtains, he knew he couldn't push it any further.
"Okay, I'm really going to pass out now," he said, waving a clumsy hand at the lens. "Spend the day well today. Sleep well. Bye! See you again!"
The screen flickered off and Jungkook sat in the silence of his living room for a moment.
By the time he saw the sun beginning to peek over the Seoul skyline, he felt a bone-weary exhaustion. He walked to the guest room door, listening to the silence of your steady breathing. The house felt fuller tonight; warmer. He checked the door one last time, ensuring Bam was indeed settled at your feet, before finally heading to his own room to dream of the long road ahead.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the love on the teaser and prologue of ‘I’m sure’ it truly brings me so much joy how many people already like it and are planning on reading it!
I’m planning on using this account be for drafts of scenes in the series but also some deleted scenes that probably won’t make it in….
And obviously it’s a way for me to get your thoughts on how you feel about a certain scene or if I should change something, etc. like a beta reader. If you can (obviously please don’t feel the need to) support that account it would be greatly appreciated and I want nothing but the best series to give to you all.
