He's almost 4 now. Sometimes, when he's tired and there is music playing he'll ask me, "Do you remember when you used to hold me like this and dance me?" Then he climbs up into my arms and lays his head on my shoulder and I dance and bounce him gently to the music. Sometimes he even still falls asleep.

Yesterday, my 3yo son asked me "why is easter?" And in the middle of a Target grocery isle, i started telling him about the Goddess Ishtar, the godess of fertility and such and how, despite being a middle eastern theological character, her holiday was adopted by the catholic faith, then implemented into Rome durring the rule of Constantine and then rehashed by the christian church...

And all the Karens buying their guilt free avacados gave me the nastiest looks.
