It’s really funny how Zoro canonically stops aging after 40, but he reaches that look lighning fast. He looked about 30 at 19, then aged 5 years in 2 during TS, so no wonder that he reaches that 45-7ish look so fast. Like I bet that if Oda drew him at 30 or something he’d already look the same. Maybe with a beard-phase somewhere, or a ‘fuck I’ve been too lazy to cut my hair for 3 years and it’s too long now” interlude. And after this? he just says fuck it, and stop aging. He’s basically the same at 60. Nice, Oda.
I always found it funny when men say that drunk women aren’t attractive. Because I don’t want to be attractive, i want to be drunk.
Glenfarclas 40 Year Old, 46% ABV - 700ml, (Ballindollach, Scotland)
Background: Glenfarclas (valley of the green grass) was established in 1836 has been owned by the Grant family for over 5 generations. The 40 year old won the "Scotch Whisky Single Malt of the Year" award in the 2011 17th Annual Malt Whisky Awards competition.
Style: Scotch
My Rating: A-
Taste Profile: Sherry/Caramel/Maple -> Alcohol/Warmth/Licorice -> Peppery/Dry finish
Where I got it: Chateau Louis (Edm)
How much: ~$500, Summer 2010
Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
Would I recommend this to scotch aficionados: yes
Tasting notes: pours incredibly rich dark caramel brown. Massive maple syrup sweetness and vanilla on the nose. Drinks with sharp 8/10-sweetness of sherry, caramel, maple syrup, vanilla, transitioning into alcohol, intense warmth, oak, rum, licorice/mint, with a peppery, lingering dry finish.
Happy 40 Mr. Slater!
