“You promise?”

“Cross my heart and hope to die.”

“That’s… so cheesy.”

You simply grinned over at him, a cheeky wink thrown his way. Your grin never faltered even when you caught him rolling his eyes so hard he could pass out. You readjusted the map in your hands as he shifted his grip on the steering wheel.

“You promise we’re going the right way?” He repeated, glancing over to you as the two of you continued down the long straight road.

“Yes Jong, I promise.” You relented, smile softening as up put the map down. “It’s just a really long road. The place is along this road on the left, we just have to keep an eye out.”

“Alright,” Jongho sighed, reaching over to take your hand in his, lacing the fingers between each other. You knew he was tired, having driven for almost four hours straight, but you couldn’t drive a stick shift car and Jongho refused to stop for longer than ten minutes, determined to get to the place before dark.

“It’s just a little longer.” You said, leaning yourself over to press a kiss to his cheek, “I promise.”

“Cross your heart and hope to die?” He grinned at you and you playfully scowled at him, pushing yourself away.

“Who’s the cheesy one now?!”

〘BONNIE〙I hope this is okay,,, I don’t know how I came up with this but it’s a little bit of an aged-up au… hope you like it!! Also thank you!! I see you on my blog all the time and it means a lot!

You were almost beginning to think he would be a no show as the time itched closer and closer to eight. The play would be starting in less than three minutes and Jongho had still yet to show his face. You knew he was going to be late, if the phone call you receive almost an hour ago was anything to go by. He was held back at work and there had been an accident on the road.

“I’ll try my best.” He had said, previous anger replaced with shattering disappointment. You had hoped he would make it, especially since Chanhee’s main role was in the first half of the play.

A bright smile bloomed over your face as you spotted him entering through the side doors, waving almost wildly so he could pick you out in the crowd.

“Sorry I’m late.” Jongho whispered as he settled into the chair next to yours, giving his apologies to the people around you he had disturbed.

“You’re just in time for it to start,” you smiled, leaning in to kiss him gently on the lips, “you made it, that’s all that matters.”

“I still feel guilty I couldn’t see him before he had to go for last minute touch-ups.”

“He understands baby, don’t feel to bad about it. You’re here and he’ll see you and that’s all that matters.” You repeated in a whisper as the lights turned out and a singular spotlight was centred on the stage. Chanhee was stood center stage, scanning the crowd for your face. You gave him a proud smile as you watched his face light up when he noticed Jongho beside you and when he opened his mouth to speak he was the most confident you had seen him in a long time.

And it was all because of Jongho.

“You can do it!” Eunseo cheered loudly from her place in the stands, she wasn’t that far away but even though she had shouted the words you almost didn’t catch them. You sent her a small wave and a bright smile made itself known to your face as you looked away from your girlfriend and back to the judges, so you could start your routine.

From across the hall in the stands, because Eunseo and your mother apparently weren’t allowed to sit with the team during this particular competition, your girlfriend clapped along to the music of your floor routine, her shouts and cheers the loudest by far as you executed your jumps, flips and tumbles to the best of your ability. She watched over you with the widest smile on her lips, her heart swelling with such an overwhelming feeling of pride ad you landed a particularly hard tumble with perfect accuracy.

“Eunseo, honey, just go down to the team,”  Your mother had told her, winking mischievously as she made her way down the stands to “distract the coaches” so as your routine rounded to a finish Eunseo practically ran down the stands and towards where your team was situated.

You smiled brightly, overjoyed that you had finally perfected your routine and gave he performance of your life, bowing to the judges before you could finally relax your stance. Your smile dropped a little when you looked back over to the stands to notice both your mother and girlfriend no longer there but made your way off the floor – only to be attacked in a hug by a bouncing Eunseo.

“You did it! I knew you would!” She exclaimed. You went to answer her, arms wrapping around her waist, but she leant in quick as lightning to place a kiss against your lips. You could faintly hear the cheers of the audience and your team, still aware you weren’t yet off of the main floor and still visible to everyone, but you couldn’t care less and when you received a perfect score of all tens (apart from that one 9) you were the one to bring your lips to hers.
