Delicious Silence

How wonderful it is to be alone- the delicious silence, the emptiness in which I can unfold myself back to normal size. I can breathe, I can think, I can open up my heart & write what comes out. I almost don’t want it  to ever, ever end.

Another Illness

I had begun to accept this mind that doesn’t work the way they promised when I was young. That first diagnosis almost killed me, but I’ve survived up to this point

but bones that turn to jelly, legs that won’t walk, breath that won’t come?

Have mercy on this body, it is only trying to survive.
