Despite calling myself an animator, I actually have never animated traditionally, on paper, until today. I went with the classic flag wave to see what it's like. I'm amazed any animation was made back in the days before computers! This took a lot of patience and concentration, both things I've been struggling with lately. I can see the flaws in this flag cycle, but to be honest I don't feel like going back to fix them. The friction of doing it on paper, the fact that I'd need to shoot photos of it again... Makes me appreciate tvpaint so much more!

Here we go, exercise #7: character thinking! I really hate how it turned out. But! I'd rather make and post a shit animation for the sake of habit and practice, than not do anything at all. Maybe eventually it will get easier.

I was trying to use Chip's (from Chip and Dale) model sheet, but as you can see he goes really off model for most of this.

Any crit is welcome. Be mean!

Hello Tumblr, long time no see. I really need to practice my art and animation consistently, so I made this blog to give myself some motivation and accountability. It's unrealistic to do anything every single day, but I will aim to do some kind of art or animation practice most days. Every other day? Let's see how it goes.

I plan to sketch, go to life drawing, and do rough animation - either little loops/tests that I come up with, or, if I have no ideas, make my way through the 51 animation exercises.

Critique is very welcome. You don't have to be nice, go ahead and roast me.

02/51 FOI! To fazendo mais de um em cada exercício, meio que o processo (e talvez diferentes formas de fazer) pra eu entender mais como cada coisa funciona e modifica a animação. 08/08/2018

Resolvi começar uma lista de estudos básicos de animação, e espero conseguir fazer os 51!

Vou continuar com coisas em paralelo mas é bom ter uma guia de estudo pra treinar mesmo as coisas mais simples como uma bolinha quicando :)
