I have this headcanon that Annie's love language is gift giving. Not in the sense that she buys a gift and wraps it but in the sense that she finds something she deems good and gives it to someone she cares about. Like a rock she thinks is pretty, or a book she found at the antique store, or a scarf her father made that's probably falling apart, or a fallen pigeon feather with a cool pattern and she gives them to Armin bwcause they reminded her of him. Armin loves it every time. He probably has a whole drawer of things she's randomly given him.

Post-Rumbling

Annie has to tell Armin to “stop being so freaking adorable” at least once a day.

One of her major contributions as an ambassador, apart from being the “Armin whisperer” is being the tough one with the icy glare that leaves men shaking in their boots.

But it's hard to do that when she keeps looking over and immediately wants to shower her little hamster of a boyfriend with kisses and affection.

Armin usually responds apologetically with a “I'll try” or “I'm sorry, I'll do my best to not be so distracting”

Which is usually followed by Annie pulling him into a kiss with an exasperated “you're doing it again”

Maybe he comes home with his injuries and Annie is about to go feral on whoever hurt him so bad but taking care of his injuries is priority number 1.

Does that exist? If not maybe I just need to write one because I need some angst right now

Annie's going rightfully apeshit the moment she sees him and he's trying to pull off some lame ass excuses about how he fell on the way and suffered the black eye and etc. First, instinctively she's going to hold his face like the most fragile, delicate thing and tell him it's okay. It's okay, he's alright now. Next, she's going after whoever hurt him. Like. She's going AFTER them, they're not living after this. Uhhhnngfghhhhhh so hoootttt.

Not sure if someone's got a fic out there like this but that shouldn't stop you from writing one anyway!

One thing from AOT Junior High id love to see in the post rumbling world is When Armin is absolutely terrified, his words become nonsensical and frantic requiring some to translate what he’s saying.

In junior high it was Mikasa, but post rumbling i Like to think of Annie gaining the ability to understand him.

Just picturing

Reiner coming down to the ambassadors meeting room, only to find Armin huddled in terror in the corner of the room, Annie is next to him gently trying to sooth him.

Reiner: Armin what happened?

Armin: thththththwawawwawasasasasadasabsabdabdbabeabeabeebebe

Reiner: what, i cant understand you, Annie do you know what happened

Annie: (matter of factly) he’s saying there was a Bee.

It takes a bout an hour of gentle soothing from Annie before Armin is understandable again, and another hour before he comes outta the corner.

Armin having separation anxiety from Annie since he’s never gone a day without clinging to either Eren or Mikasa growing up and doesn’t know how to go about living life without someone he can lean on…

It’s not something he talks about since it’s something he’s pretty embarrassed about, especially now…

He’s almost in his mid twenties and is suppose to be a respected representative of Paradis and yet.. he struggles to be away from his wife for more than a couple days without worrying to the point he spills water on himself from his hands shaking so much.

It makes him feel pretty pathetic to say the least…

Meanwhile Annie isn’t really much better. Never having known love before now, being without him genuinely puts in her a low mood and has literally no desire to talk to anyone other than Armin…

At the end of the day when he gets to talk to her on the phone is like a breath of fresh air for both of them and neither want to be the one to end the call because those feelings of anxiety and loneliness will just crawl right back as soon as the silence sets in.

When they reunite after a week you’d swear they hadn’t seen each other in months with the way they throw their arms around each other…

Armin and Annie strike me as one of those couples who half way through their wedding reception, they would swap their outfits for fun.

Armin comes out in Annie’s wedding dress that is very form fitting, while Annie comes out wearing Armin’s over sized tux.

The two of them sharing another dance with armin struggling in heels and Annie clomping about in shoes to big for her.

Also Annie carrying Armin bridal style.
