When Ludmila had reactivated Torse the first time, Maxwell had managed. She was a skilled tinkerer, she would have him back to himself in no time. When she’d revealed it might take a while, Maxwell resigned himself to waiting. He’d never been patient, but neither had the windriders. One by one, they reintroduced themselves, bringing back Torse’s clouded memories of them. It was a slow, gradual change, the entire process up until Marya’s turn took at least two or three weeks. Torse was a priority, yes, but so was cleaning up Zood, helping with diplomatic meetings with Zern, arranging Comfrey’s funeral. 

When Torse punched open the door, Maxwell shoved himself away from Van’s protective embrace. For a few seconds, nobody moved.

“How dare you claim to have loved me.”

Little does he know, they're the same person.

This is an incredibly sweet and fluffy modern AU, I loved Remus and Sirius playing music to each other through their walls, so cute and wholesome!
