What position would you want to fill if you served on a starship?

I'd definitely be in the science department. Probably just a scientist because being science officer would be too much for me. Head astrophysicist, if that position existed.

Think you can pilot that shuttlecraft over there on manual?

I'd want to try in a simulation before actually attempting it (but I guess a tractor beam would be a good contingency), but I'd like to think I could. I'm a decent driver. If Sulu has to sit really close to me to help me pilot then so be it--safety first! (John Cho, if you could stop being a hot dad, I'd really appreciate it.)

OH MY GOD IS THIS A QUESTION FUCK YES  but seriously I can't imagine doing anything with my life that doesn't involve the stars or space in some way

If you could be any ST race, which one?

this is tricky because Vulcan control and strength (and inability to really sweat) truly appeal to me... but at the same time, I'm a little iffy on the intense emotional control. Then again, I have a human bias. Actually, I'd want to be half Romulan half Vulcan, like Saavik. She's got the Romulan emotionality and Vulcan control--the best of both worlds.
