Since the day Gi-hun with Sang Woo moved to Jeju, into an old Korean mansion where a few other residents lived, a sweet elderly lady with her son and a couple of friends, one of whom was definitely North Korean, he could not find peace. In fact, he had long lingered glances at Sang Woo while he worked, but he refused to admit it to himself: perhaps out of fear of society or rejection.

So when he found a strange key engraved with a triangle, square, and circle, and then discovered a hidden door, he possibly expected an adventure that could drown out his foolish thoughts… But behind the door was only a wall.

Until that night… Yes, that very night it happened: the door opened, and he stepped into another world, to a person named Inho, who was strikingly similar to Sang Woo.

The idea is that Gihun, like Coraline, enters another world where Inho represents a different “ friend,” but at the same time, he meets a friend resembling Sang Woo. Since Gihun has feelings for Sang Woo (but inner homophobia, or fear of judgment, prevents him from expressing them — note: Sang Woo is in a similar situation), he decides that if he cannot show his feelings in the real world, he will try everything with Inho, because he resembles his friend.
