Raul Roseberg POV: As the youngest of the 7 sages, and having having my ancestors being seven sages, I was was fear as a child by children my age. After all my great ancestor who controlled the now illegal Black flame. It's fine though I don’t mind being alone with my plants… Until then seventh Sage was introduced Monica Everett the silent, she was younger than I was when I entered, and so small.
Raul Roseberg POV: She is scared of me. She stutters and can’t talk to me. Tell Louis, the barrier sage told me that she, isn’t only just scared of me, she’s scared of people in general.
Raul Roseberg POV: if she isn’t scared, because of my family, or my ability than just maybe we could be friends….
Raul Roseberg: We’re going to be friends Monica Everett
I’m so curious if they’re going to make Macaque King a separate character or Six Ears
From the sounds of it they are, they only say that Bull Demon King and Sun Wukong were the only characters that get touched on in the book. So it’s more likely they are following the OG story line and making each brother with an original back story.
Snippet of a Breath of the Wild fic I might pick up again. Not sure yet. Also trying to figure out how to stitch this to the second half of their conversation.
Summary: While on their mission to recover their memories and regain control of the Divine beasts the Champions are lead on a chase through the woods. Link has an unexpected reunion with an old friend.
The Champions hurried after the frustratingly elusive figure. Link was the fastest, sprinting down the overgrown path and ignoring the branches smacking against him, barely bothering to bring an arm up to protect his face. He burst out of the woods into a clearing bathed in the rays of the setting sun as it filtered through the trees. He stopped and studied his surroundings, looking for danger or any sign of his quarry. Across the clearing was what looked like the last remains of a building lost to the ages, mossy and worn. The crumbling stones seemed to be far older than anything he had ever seen in his travels, older still than even the Divine Beasts.
In the center of the clearing was an old and weathered stump that, much like the ruins, had a feeling of unfathomable ancientness to it, yet was strangely preserved. Oddly, Link felt a sense of familiarity with the scene before of him. He could have sworn he heard faint music whispered on the wind of that clearing. He was certain he’d never heard that song before, yet at the same time he knew it. It was welcoming and warm, like a long-forgotten lullaby. Link could hear the others catching up to him, but the minute he took another step forward there was a brilliant flash of emerald tinged light, and all sounds faded. He brought his hand up to shield his eyes, blinking as he waited for them to adjust.
“ Do you remember this place?”
He jumped slightly at the voice and spun around. His eyes landed on a figure dressed all in various greens of the forest. At first she looked like any regular Hylian child; pointed ears, large blue eyes, a spray of freckles across her face, all framed by brilliant green hair tucked back with a simple headband. Yet when Link looked into those eyes he felt that she was almost as ancient as the clearing in which they stood, and once again an odd sense of familiarity washed over him.
“ Saria…” He heard himself saying, though he wasn’t entirely sure where that name had come from.
She giggled, a bright smile spreading across her face.
“ Well, you remember my name. But I guess from your expression you don’t really remember why.”
“I’m sorry-” Link began, but she waved his apology away.
“ It’s alright. Recovering your memories from this lifetime has been enough of an ordeal.” She reassured him, her tone almost motherly despite her youthful appearance. “ And it’s been a long time after all.”
He was confused, yet the more she spoke, the more familiar she became. Like they were finally catching up after ages apart.
“ We... were friends, weren’t we?”
Saria smiled again.
“ We were. You used to live with us, before you were called on to fulfill your destiny as the Hero of Time, and I awoke as the Sage of the Forest.” She said wistfully. “ And we still are. Even if you don’t remember me, I still know you. Ages have passed, and you’ve been reborn so many times since then, always rising to fight when evil rears its head. But your eyes never change. I can still see the same spirit, the same strength and courage that triumphed then.”
