Quick step out of the routine:
Monday August 4th I've completed 31 days of my challenge. I'm going to shake things up a bit. I am consciously breaking with the first part of my commitment, in which I promised to do one thing a day that is out of my comfort zone. While fun and fruitful, I believe I succeeded in setting a precedent for myself. I've developed a nice habit of leaning into the uncomfortable. Rather than being bound to it, I would prefer to do so freely. I am unlocking myself from a challenge that, while fun, is distracting me from preparing for my trip.
By breaking the commitment I wholly accept the failure clause. I will work for Stephen an hour a day for a week. He will pay me to do it and it will be great. I am very excited to do this. Actually I've already put in 4 hours cleaning out his guest bedroom.
I will keep up the Yoga/Meditation part, and I will continue to write. These have been wildly successful for me. A personal goal, though not one I am binding myself to, is to up my meditation and stretching to every day rather than alternating days. But so long as I get one of those done a day I am happy.
I am adding one more commitment - I will practice Spanish for at least 20 minutes a day. I will also spend at least 5 minutes reading/watching/listening to one piece of material related to Peru/Bolivia/Chile every day. This is in an effort to prepare me for my journey.
Each day I fail to do either of these things I will have to post something on facebook/instagram the following day. This will be great, because it will force me out of my comfort zone and it will probably be good for me.
And just to throw it into the mix, I will make a conscious effort to remind myself every day how grateful I am to be here.
There you have it! I'm already out of my mind excited about this new chapter. Off I go...
