Happy Klapollo Day 1!

I had totally forgotten that some people decided that 09/02 is Klapollo Day because of their hair shapes!

It's cool because it means they get two days per year: 09/02 AND 02/09. But also confusing, because Americans write dates backwards to most of the rest of the world.

We don't really do this in English ship names, but if we were like Japanese shippers, 09/02 would be for the top Klavier/bottom Apollo dynamic, whereas 02/09 would be for top Apollo/bottom Klavier. The implication in BL is that the "top" in bedroom activities is the assertive one, the one who chases the other, whereas the "bottom" is the one who gets chased and eventually asked out. It's funny to me because it conflates what feels good to a person's body with personality traits, and I'm pretty sure those things are all entirely unrelated.

There's also the Japanese Klapollo Day, キョオドの日 (Kyoodo no hi), which is apparently 8th August. @hikari-kaitou couldn't find out why in a quick Google search, and I trust her to be good at Japanese stuff. It's funny, because I was certain the Japanese Klapollo Day was in June. Oh well.

Anyway! Yesterday was the first of at least three Klapollo Days in this year of AA4, hence Happy Klapollo Day 1!

1703. Febr. - den 9ten Bamberg. - Forchheim. - den 10ten Coburg. So schön nun dieser Ort, und so viel sehenswürdig darinnen war, so konte man sich doch nicht lange da aufhalten, sondern mußte bald wieder auf die Reyse gedencken. Weilen man aber von hier den Weg auf Sachsen zu nehmen gedachte, mußten die Gelder, so biß hierher gangbar waren, gegen Sächsische und Brandenburgische ⅔ Stücke ausgewechselt werden, worauf die Printzen aufbrachen, und durch das Bayreutische nach Bamberg giengen. Sie passirten unterwegs Forchheim, welches damals wegen der befürchteten Bayerischen Invasion fortificirt wurde, und von einigen vor das Vatterland Pontii Pilati gehalten wird. Die Printzen wolten sich hier in der Chur-Fürstl. Bischöfflichen Residence nicht aufhalten, gaben sich also in Gegenwart des Chur-Fürstl. Hofes nicht kund, sondern machten sich des Morgens frühe vor anbrechendem Tag wieder auf den Weg nach denen Sächsischen Gräntzen, welche Sie auch bald, nachdem Sie bey Rattelsdorff auf Kahnen den Maynstrom glücklich passirt, ohne einigen Anstoß erreicht, indem Sie noch vor Abend in Coburg ankamen, welche Residence damalen, wegen abgestorbenen Fürstl. Coburgischen Hauses, Hertzog Johann Ernst von Saalfeld biß zu Austrag der Streit-Sache, so er hierüber mit seinem Herrn Bruder hatte, würcklich possedirte.

As beautiful as this place now was and so much worth seeing in it, one couldn’t stay there for long, but soon had to turn their attention back to the journey. Since one intended to take the road to Saxony, the money, as it was in use up until here, had to be exchanged for Saxon and Brandenburgian ⅔ pieces, after which the Princes departed and went through the Bayreuthian domain towards Bamberg. They passed on the way Forchheim, which at the time was being fortified due to the afeared Bavarian invasion, and was thought by some to be the fatherland of Pontius Pilate. The Princes didn’t want to stay here in the Electoral Episcopal residence, therefore didn’t accounce themselves in the presence of the Electoral court, but were on their way early in the morning before daybreak towards those Saxonian borders, which they soon, after they had happily passed the Main stream at Rattelsdorf on barges, reached without incident, whilst they came to Coburg before evening, which residence at the time was indeed possessed, because of the died out Princely House of Coburg, by Duke Johann Ernst von Saalfeld until the settlement of the dispute.
