I don't know about you all,

What's the line between politeness and self-protection?

Because there's this one guy i met at my part time work, and we didnt talk much face to face. But he whatsapped me later that night, asking for my FB, and Im like, oh okay sure. Just a new friend.

Then he kept messaging me non-stop, commenting on almost all the photos I've ever uploaded on FB. I got a bit uncomfortable, and stopped the conversation after he asked me about my age, my family, my religion etc. I thought it was just a person being friendly, but then I got weired out.

Then he messaged me again the next day, and being polite I replied. After a while i got annoyed cuz i was doing my work, so i just replied with an👌,then he sort of gotten angry? Im like, ok, i get that some people have pet peeves about emojis and stuff, but i dont think we're close enough as friends to get to that stage where you get can angry at simple things like this?

But he was fine later when i gave him a curt reply, so i guess it was fine?

Then today, after ignoring his last two message cuz i was sick (literally) and didn't want to deal with people i dont like, he messaged me again with a simple hello, how are you?

I said fine, thanks

Then he asked what i was doing.

Work, i said.

Oh, he said, i was thinking if you want to go to the church with me today.

I was like wtf, what in the world would you even think that a female, who you'e known for a day, then messaged for days later, would want to go with you to somewhere she hadnt been before, with someone she doesnt really know?

Who knows if you invited other people? Who knows if you're really gonna bring me to church? Who knows wtf you wanted to do?

Idk man, is it my fault for talking to him? For giving him my FB? For replying him? For giving him any sense of notion that i might welcome his approach?

Honestly he hasnt done anything bad. But just trying to be polite is not working, as he is persistent in trying to be my friend. But i dont know if thats what he truly wants, or he's thinking of something else.

Now i dont know if i should reply, or even go to my work, to risk meeting him, to risk talking to him

To risk angering him til the fact that he might kill me because i was just being polite.
