it really is all about the fact that varian cut out a hole in the sheet so he could see quirin’s hand holding the note.
you know he was constantly circling around, trying to read it from every angle. you know he clung to the word “son” like a lifeline, taking solace in the fact that quirin hadn’t disowned him (and maybe that “son” became a banner varian lifted, declaring that through anything, quirin was still proud, so it didn’t matter what he did). maybe he moved the sheet so the hole was over quirin’s head at first, but changed it to his hand, because that was bearable. that helped him focus.
the note is information, the reward for a completed task. that grimacing, straining, pained face is that of his dad.

So Kankri is a bad person and sucks and is annoying and all that but honestly I think we should let him be that way a little bit.
Dude was not allowed to have a personality and a life until he was 13 years old. Kankri was literally not allowed to do ANYTHING on his own. By LAW. Who knows what his culler was like? We never MET Kankri’s culler, but judging from Kankri I think it’s safe to assume they’re (and this is nothing against Kankri we love Kankri) a monstrously stupid sewer person (that was a reference to a tiktok audio in case you didn’t get it but its also accurate to my feelings on Kankri’s childhood).
So honestly if they guy wants to cancel people on twitter, I’m gonna let him cancel people on twitter. He was probably not allowed to openly disagree or have issue with anything the people around him said for his entire fucking life or else his life would have been hell. It’s part of the reason why he’s such a boot licker, it’s because if he wasn’t everything would suck really bad for him. I’m not excusing his actions, Kankri has said and done some pretty fucked up shit, but if he wants to be an annoying douche that enjoys cancel culture im gonna let him be an annoying douche that enjoys cancel culture.

Sykkuno's internet: Nope. We're not doing the Vault today. I refuse.
Sykkuno: :(
Corpse, at 4am: WHO DID THIS? WHO DO I NEED TO FIGHT?
Lol, not really(Or maybe he would've driven to Vegas just to fight Sykkuno's internet, knowing him he probably would've), but the tweet made me giggle.
Because of course Corpse would react like this when Sy gets upset. It's so predictably sweet and it's why we love them.
As for everyone else, Emma is willing to obliterate whatever makes Sykkuno makes him sad. Minx is willing to fight his internet provider. Yvonne posted a GIF of someone patting someone's shoulder with a broom(??? We love the bronze squad). Autumn posted a hugging GIF. And Wendy posted an awkward head patting gif. Ray assured him they were patient and TOMORROW(now today). Just some of the stand out replies.
Why The Archivist Has ADHD headcanon works:
- Works far too long without taking breaks and often past normal work hours. (This commonly happens with ADHDers when on a stimulant such as Adderall.)
- Is very forgetful and easily distracted
- is a fast walker who doesn't notice he's out pacing those around him (most of season 5 is just Martin telling him to slow down)
- It is insinuate that he doesn't eat much ( lack of appetite is another side effect of stimulants)
- becomes very irritable when his focus is interrupted
- wandered off as a child and was quick to boredom
- consistently exhibits impulsive actions and behaviors
- constantly looks sleeped deprived (another side effect of stimulants is lack of sleep, I know, shocker)
- struggles with anxiety (symptoms of anxiety can worsen with stimulants)
All of this to say, whether intentional or not, The Archivist is one of the best written cases of a protagonist with ADHD I've seen, because it's not just about the symptoms of the condition, but also the side effects fo common treatments
