Drug Bust in Boone County

On Thursday, December 4, 2015, a two month investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit, resulted in the arrest of a Belvidere Resident on felony drug charges.
Cristian A. Roman, age 28 of Belvidere, was charged with three counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a Church – (two Class X Felonies / one Class 1 Felony). Roman remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with no bond.
On Thursday, December 4, 2015, the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and the United States Drug Administration (DEA) Task Force, assisted by Belvidere Police Officers/K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant in the 100 block of E. Macomb St., Belvidere, Illinois. Detectives arrested Roman on three counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a Church. The investigation resulted in the seizure of a controlled substance (cocaine), a scale, and U.S. Currency.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. Each Class X Felony is punishable by six (6) to thirty (30) years in the Department of Corrections. A Class 1 Felony is punishable by four (4) to fifteen (15) years in the Department of Corrections.
